Hi all. I just popped down to my local toy store as they now deal with Biante. I was hoping to pick up a nice 1:18 XW or something along those lines. The store owner happened to let it slip that Biante are going to release a 1:18 of the Bill Bourke Special. Very small production run, so of course i put my name down for one. $195.00. They are due to arrive at the end of the year. IMO if there was ever a collectable Die-Cast model, This is it. Cant wait.

That would be awesome! But I am trying really hard not to buy any more 1:18's, love them but they are a PIA when you move house, and they cost heaps..LOL
Im on my way to collecting every model (XK-BF+) in 1:43. Just got this one but I am still on the hunt for a XC Cobra, they go for nearly $100, for 1:43, crazyness! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....5859&rd=1&rd=1 Not a cobra, but close...kinda of... Heres a good thread too. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...ighlight=model Will the Bill Bourke special come in smaller sizes? Although I guess there is not much point, its the engine you want to see.

$100 is reasonable for a 1:43 XC Cobra. I paid $55 for my 1:43 Silver Fox XW GTHO. Its a addiction, you buy one then you have two. You have two then you have 10 etc etc. Cheaper than the real thing anyway.

Gorrells have some bargains now and then, usually Ebay is the go. Toy Kingdom overcharges aswell.

I have been searching for 9 years for an XH ute model, as far as I know, they have not been made, I even wrote an Email to Biante telling them to make one. They make nearly all the other ute models, why not an XH?
Any one seen one on there travells?

I'm still waiting for the EB or EL GTs. Hopefully one day they might make them.
They already have the dies to cast the AU V8 Supercars since they have been out for years so you would think doing the T-Series wouldn't be that far of a stretch. All I have is a 1:18 apollo blue XB coupe and the red pepper and the green XA coupes. Dont have the money to spend on them any more. Too much goes into the 1:1 scale BA lol.

Yes I'm a die cast model collector.
I have about 13-14 models. My very first model was a 1:24 scale VW Beetle. We paid about $200 for it 12 years ago, from Franklin Mint. It still has the tag attached too it aswell. I'd imagine it would be worth a fair bit now. Does Franklin Mint still exist? Last edited by Ryan; 09-06-2007 at 12:22 PM. |

Franklin Mint!? now that is a name I have not heard of in a while, I used to by coins off them.
And sounds like the X-series has been missing out!

I remember years and years ago Franklin Mint would always have brochures, they used to make some nice models. But I never brought them as they were a bit over priced IIRC.
Actually I reckon they were the first brand I ever noticed, and what started my habit..LOL

I've got a couple of 1:24 scale Richard Petty cars from the Franklin mint. One of them is the light blue Plymouth Superbird. Any fans of that animated movie cars will recognise that car lol (the main character racing car voiced by Owen Wilson for all of you still puzzled).

Once I get money, I plan to get a few Biante 1:18 models.
I have bid on many, but never won. So not a collector yet, but definitely plan to be. |
