Default Dumb question No. 345,672

What is this (bit with arrow) I have always wondered. Obviously an air vent of some description, but what for? Driver comfort?

Im pretty sure they are used to draw clean air into the cabin. On dirt stages the top of the car is pretty much the only place you can get clean, non dusty air from.

Its a passenger "Fart Protection Duct" to allow fast flowing air when the "Ripometer" sences toxic gas in the cabin. As our top end rally cars dont have the luxury of power windows..

yes it's cabin air with filter to presurize the cab and stops dust from getting in door and window seals which don't work too well on a rally car.

Do they work... hell yeah...
