Hi All
Well I can confirm that Ford is definitly importing the Fiesta ST as the XR4 and that they can be ordered NOW!!!! I just went to Southside Ford in Brissy and ordered their only Colorado Red XR4 in the first batch arriving in May, the next batch will arrive in September. Price is still not firm yet but will be between $27,000-$29,000. My one is just a stock number on the order with no price!!! Has all the main ST features (except power folding mirrors, bluetooth, auto headlights and wipers ect). Still cannot believe the car doesn't have cruise control! So now I need to find a home for my current Fiesta just after I imported almost all the ST body parts for it (just the bumpers and skirts still to go). It will be sad to see her go but very nice to finally have an ST!!!!! Cheers Jason

Ford dealers can take orders as of January and Southside Ford has five definite cars allocated to them. I grabbed their one and only Colorado Red one, apparently the white ones with blue stipes will be the most promoted as they are Ford colours. Promotions will begin in March and deliveries begin in May.
But your local dealer should have their own dealer brochure with all the details. So yes it is a real order with a stock number allocated to it, which will be mine once it arrives in the country possibly as early as April! Money is deposited and sales paperwork is signed. If you want one see your dealer now! They expect the first shipment to sell out just like the initial XR5 shipment did, and the next shipment will be September...

You can order one now but even if they land in the country Ford will not release them to the general public until release date which I beleive to be very early June. So basically its a 6month wait for you RedStar.
Nice choice with the car though |

I'm jealous.
Well, at least I'll have my lowly 1.6 ST wannabe.

Not yet, the dealer only had one copy of the dealer info brochure to show me but from what I could see it was just a normal ST brochure with the XR4 badges photoshoped into the standard ST promo photos.
Car will have XR4 badges on the back (where the LX/ZETEC/GHIA badge goes and two on either side under the bump strip and near the rear wheel arch) apparently all the interior badging will be XR as well. Which is a bit disapointing as I was planing on rebadging it back to an ST. There are no side stripes on this version either only the over the roof versions which are on all the initial shipment but optional after that.

Congrats RedStar71.
I went over to the local dealer today and placed an order aswell. Getting Performance Blue. I have a couple of colour copy pages from the dealer ordering guide (just the colour charts). The white and blue cars get blue dashes and seats while every other colour gets red seats with ebony dash. I have noticed on the panther black the stripes look like they are silver while the others are white or blue. Also they are looking at selling 40 a month (Taken from the guide). I have a strong feeling its going to end up like the XR5. My local dealer is only getting 2 at first. And 1 is ment to be a demo I have taken the other one already hehehe |

Congrats RedStar and Oxyg3n.
I think you guys have chosen the right colours too... after looking at the brochure pics I reckon the red and blue are definately the hottest colours of the bunch I'm looking forward to seeing these on the road and hopefully I can get a test drive of one too... they look like a lot of fun |

Nice!
So the first batch are going to be demo's? No cruise like the XR5, seems odd doesn't it!

Aside from some VW Polos, I can't think of any current supermini that has factory cruise control standard. They're basically considered as city cars, manufacturers probably can't see the value in engineering cruise control into these cars. |

Alright Good to see you ordered one too Oxyg3n!
From what the dealer was saying they will sell pretty well. Wonder how the XR clubs will like Fiesta's and Focus's in their ranks?...

Congrats Jason and Oxygen!
Can't wait to see these little things on the road (and get a test drive myself too!) Have you recently re-located to Sydney though? I thought you were previously up in Northern NSW?

Some people in those clubs are arrogant pig headed bogans. The old "anything under 2 litres is just fruit juice" rings a bell. (however it goes). But stuff them, the XR4 and 5 and great cars in there own right.

I did a photoshop pic of what the side stripes could look like if I decide to keep it as an XR4 and not rebadge it as an ST.
What do you all think?
