The acceleration on that thing is immense, it's just a relentless and constant surge of torque.
I would love to experience driving something like that. |

Changing of the guard from combustion to electric right here.
Car looks great, and very impressive how it did not move around at all. Loved the heavy breathing from the driver at the end of the straight, when breaking for the high speed turn in. Sound- well reminds me playing scalextric with my brothers, the sound, controllers getting so hot that they burned your hands, and the smell of burning electric motors and frying brushes. Like going back full circle.

The Bugatti Chiron is both quicker and faster than this "RC car"...
Someone should line them both up for a top speed run... the result will be hilarious !

World would have been a different place if electric cars had taken off instead of petroleum fuels at the turn of the 19th century. The Middle East would have remained in abject poverty.

If this EV is designed to take on ICE hypercars, we should not be selective in how we compare them.... don't you think ?
Everyone knows a P100D was the quickest production car at the quarter mile but take one to the track and you'll be spending most of your time watching AMG's and M5's lap you while you wait for the batteries to cool down so you can charge your Tesla ! The 762hp P100D is quick no doubt but you'll never see one do a one mile run against other ICE powered cars, simply because they fall on their face beyond 200kph due to a little issue that all electric motors suffer from called 'magnetic saturation'. I don't hate EV's but I know they will never be a proper replacement for the internal combustion engine.

As we all know, the ICE has had over a century to develop and refine it's technology so over the next 10 decades where will EV tech be? Back in the early 1900's many people were saying the automobile will never properly replace the horse and buggy. |

All the electric car people have to do for the performance variants is to develop a signature sound that represents electric performance, as is hinted by this video.
Example how people like the sound of a angry V8 in petrol cars. They have to get away from the silence and give them some soul.

All that needs to happen is to fit some straight cut gears and you will have sound..
Not sure why the complaint about no sound, not like a new corolla makes any sound.. |

Conversions are already taking place. I'm watching with interest the fella over the road building an electric Suzuki Sierra, learning alot from him. Saw an electric Mustang at a EV 'come and try day' a while back. Didn't get to drive it but for ten bucks we got to drive four other cars, best fun I've had in a while and never thought it would be my old man that got cautioned for his spirited driving in the Volt As for the lack of noise, a peg and a bit of cardboard worked on our bmx's as kids...

Those camry hybrid taxis moving around at near silence around car parks are an accident waiting to happen, especially with elderly folk or young children around..

Many 1000s of prius and camry hybrid taxis operating around the country. They've replaced the falcon for top spot as taxis for many years now. No reports of mass casualties thus far. |

Having driven a Tesla and flogging it I cant even imagine what this thing would be like. For the daily commute once the infrastructure is up to spec EV's are pretty damn good.

I'm excited for this tech to be affordable and mainstream.
For me the hardest thing to get used to would be the transmission. 1 speed sounds boring as hell. I wonder if they'll make them with multispeed boxes |
