Default What is this door trim from a B series falcon?

This piece fell off when someone took my door trim off. He has no idea what it is or where it came from. I've taken the door trim off many times, and have never noticed it before. I took the passenger side off and can't see a matching piece, which leads me to think it might be something to do with the driver side door lock nozzle, but its not obvious where it goes.

Everything seems to function fine without it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hey mad, any chance you can get a pick over the next day or so? Keen to put it all back together. Had a quick look at the WSM and can't see anything like that piece in the diagrams. Thanks a million!

Is there a trick to removing this bolt? It won't come out, came out 3/4 then keeps spinning.

Yeh the guy has put the wrong bolt on there. Bloody hell. In your pick the bolt is a lighter colour, and that bolt is sitting in my cup holder. Ffs. Freaken annoyed.

yeah it's def lighter .... and longer lol

as it should be sitting in your door

with bolt & cover removed

the cover sits like so up top

but is actually sitting over

that plastic 'bit' so it's locked in.

so it's either cut or drill that bolt out . . . . i believe?.

Good to know the threads are metal and not plastic. Will get my mech to retap it when I drop the car in next. He is an expert at retaping all the threads I've stripped in the past

I had the same problem, I heated up the bolt to melt the plastic that holds the nut then it just pulls out.

Ah crap. So the metal part is spinning against the plastic? That's going to make getting it out a bitch. Think easiest is to saw the bolt head off and somehow pull out through.

Dunno, let the mech work it out lol. Or tempted just to leave it be.

possibly best to either leave it or drill the bolt head using a drill bit just a little bigger than the threaded part of the bolt so it breaks off?. use a spanner etc to hold the bolt steady whilst drilling.. cutting it could cut .... anything

Ps. but you will have to 'chock' that bolt so it don't rattle if you leave it alone.
