Default AU I6 Oil recommendations

Currently using 20w50 Repco oil and filters which i'm quite happy with, changing both every 10k.

Going to convert to lpg in the near future, should I use the same oil or will I need something different?

How many K's on your car and where are you from?
General consensus for petrol models is 10W30 or 40. Thats some pretty thick oil you are using.

Mine's got about 180k and I'm running 10W30 Fuchs CFX Titan. Absolutely brilliant stuff!

Sth East Subs, Melb. Cars got 140,000 on it.
I know a mechanic, worked at ford for years, recommends 20w50 in au's, which is the reason i've been using it, he says they run a bit smoother on it.

check the last oil container oil you used. Sometimes it says on the container that its suitable for LPG engines.

20w50 is fine for AU's. Personally i wouldn't go lower than 15w40, especially on LPG.

Valvoline Dura Blend semi synthetic 15w-50 or Penrite HPR 15 semi synthetic 15w-60 id use for that little extra protection and both great oils.
