Default wide body ebII

I am looking to start making my black eb sedan wider then standard by about 3- 4 inches while trying to keep the standard lines of the car. Has anyone seen/ done this before and what are peoples thoughts.

Why? Arent they wide enough already?

I have to say it would look pretty neat on the back if the actual guard was wider with massive tyres like some good widebody kits are made.

It would be hard though.

I agree, it could look really good or really crap.

i am going to use standard guards as a base and make them wider so i keep the standard lines. the front will be easy but the rear will require me to play with the rear of the door a bit

Check out the wide-body EA towards the bottom of this page. Just make sure your's doesn't end up looking like that. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...&page=70&pp=25

If done properly (big $$$) i think it would look awesome. Make sure you have a big kit to match the extra fatness of the panels otherwise it will just look stupid.

The size and type of wheels you choose to match the kit will also make or break the look.

the car wont have a big kit or overly big wheels. the idea is to make it wider without changing the factory lines to much. i may fit a xr kit and some au xr 8 wheels and lower it

that wide body ea sucks balls i hope youre not thinking along those lines.

i really think you can achieve the look you want through illusion rather that physical widening, hence the body kit suggestion

A company in Melb still sells Group C flares, made from the original mouldings ;)

You might want to look at other cars that have been modified from the factory, like the BMW M3 and M5, various AMG's, Nissan Skyline GT-R's, Aston Martin's etc for some idea of making the wheelarches bigger without making the car look riced and tacky.

I remember reading that Street Machine were looking at grafting on R32 GT-R style guards to the Sony Scorcher EA. That would have looked nice if done properly.
