Default WQ Fiesta XR4 - CV Joints

So after hitting 100k things have gone pear shaped for our XR4.

It split the PCV hose last week and broke down. So working with my brother-in-law (mechanic by trade) we are systematically going over the car and giving it a huge overhaul.

So aside from the PCV hose / valve getting replaced, all filters/hoses/fluids getting done, sorting a gearbox oil leak, and both engine/gearbox mounts, the CV's are cactus.

Ive done a search on here, but can't seem to find any clear info - google isn't much help either.

Anyway, do the XR4's use a unique CV? Will i be forced to go to ford? Are there after market options? Am i going to get reamed $$$?

Any advice would be appreciated. The car has been a gem up until the last month or 2 and am seriously tempted to go trade it on another VW after we fix it... anyway, look forward to some feedback.

Thanks

That's the first I have heard about the cv's going so early but they may be different to the 1.6 as they are a different gearbox. Try eBay UK for the parts and search for mk6 fiesta st.

Just as a side not I have a set of power flex engine mounts for the 07 xr4's, pm me if interested.

Cheers
