Default Stole My Car!!

A few months back a friend stole my car she was high on acid , broke into my house and found my keys and went and thrashed my car. The police caught her and wanted to press charges but I thought I would be a good christain and not press charges. Only problem is that since then she has broken off the friendship and brags about stealing the car and to rub salt into the wound stole a BEANBAG from my house. I was just wondering if I'm still able to press charges for the car just so I can use that as a threat so she stops messing with my head. I don't know why they don't get rid of drugs it messes too many people up.

I doubt you could press charges now but I bet she doesn't know that so threaten away.

Way ahead of you mate I'm doing a major life re-adjustment. I'm moving to a house at the beach, I just bought a boat, am in the process of buying a Ducati, am starting a saving account for a house and going back to uni studying intrnational relations and German. I'm trying a radical change of direction and get away from all the bullpoo.

Take it as a win that she's not your friend any more.
I love the idea of spite as much as the next person, but more often than not it does you no good and reduces you to their level. Be happy that you can take the high ground.

Sounds like your GTA4 game has got a bug. I'd do a re-install and start with a new character.

That was a good one.

On subject, had the same sort of friend once, gave him a place to stay and when I said it was time to find a place of his own, he took some of my things we knew each other for 15yrs says alot. I don't associate with him anymore but I do see his brother once a month, different guy all together, generous, has his head screwed on right etc. It is funny how after having teased and ridiculed him most his life, it was him and I who wound up being really good mates. Had another guy who stole 1200 from me, let's just say as I was in my youth I stupidly threatened him and ended up having thre cops come round and chat to me. To this day he owes me 1200 from 4 years ago and I see him from time to time, but I just shrug my shoulders and say "**** happens" sorry I wandered off then.

Anyway as I said I see the guy no more and that is the best thing. Threats, revenge etc are just stupid things that in the long run will make you feel guilty, not to mention may land you in the poo. Just forget about it mate and move on I say.

First, just move on. Dont add more fuel to the fire. If she is doing drugs her brain will be fried in no time at all and then the person becomes even more unreliable. Just ONE acid trip and it takes your brain 7 years to recover from one dose, you dont need to be friends with people who are making their brain look like swiss cheese, and yes I have seen enough of these brain scans to know what I'm on about.
Take it easy and slide on...

chuck a bag of pills in her car boot, if she has one, then call the cops on her. Get your revenge then head into your new life. People that do bad by others should get a taste of thier own medicine, maybe some electrical activity still exists in her brain and she will realise not to stuff around like she did. Maybe letting things go might be the better way but in my opinion letting the ones off who do bad by us is a plain joke. This is how you become a soft pot and word gets round, next thing you know people know they can walk all over you in a heartbeat cause you will just "let it go". Once again this is my opinion and I hope no one tries to start another e-battle

Go steal the beanbag back and leave her a suprise in her bed or something then once she's found it let her know she might have an accident if she doesn't pull her head in. Of coarse, you need to catch her on her own usually late at night with no witnesses if you want to really spook her into pulling her head in. Not that I condone violence you understand, but if you don't pull her up quick smart you might end up losing any respect that your peers might have for you and then it'd be open season on "lets feck with Sleekism, he's an easy mark"

Only problem is her dads a bikie so I have to tread carefully and the one thing that I have learnt about drug addicts as they don't think of consequences. .

It's so much simpler with guys-just knock them on their azzes. Girls are so scheming and b1tchy though guys admittedly can be girls these days. I already think I have to get rid of one mate because he is unreliable. I got him a job, drove him to work, let him and sleep in my house and eat my food but HE was the one who let the in to take my beanbag. While me and my mrs were at work he invited her over to my house to watch a movie and she left with the beanbag. WTF??

It's so annoying that my good mates are all in the Army and I'm left with spineless dropkicks.

End of rant.

Dude, I didn't know the full circumstances so I withdraw what I said before, you're on a hiding to nothing there, cut your losses, including all the dropkick mates and get the hell out of there and start again. I did something similar quite a few years ago, got sick of the crap and the loosers going nowhere that I grew up with so just moved on, and have never looked back. Just make sure it's far enough away so they can't come and find you in a hurry cos the spongers WILL try and tap you again at some point if they can.......... so , yep, what V4man said, "find another town"

not violence to gain respect , just a little quiet word in private and on the quiet so as not to loose what little respect you still have.

Oh ok... cowardly threats of violence then... Good attitude.

Why prod the bees nest? just forget the morons, and know in your mind that you are the smarter one for leaving, and you have done nothing that karma will chase you down for.

Mate, make up your mind, you're either against it or not. You sound like an ex of mine, If you didn't put your foot down and give her a slap when she asked for it you were a woose and if you did you were a low abusive bastid. You can't have it both ways.

BTW, I never did hit her and I did walk away, like I said, I don't condone violence.

Good idea to get away mate, the experiences ive had with users tells me its only a matter of time before your targeted again, if she's braggin about getting away with it, you'll be seen as a soft target and all her mates will be keen for some of the action.
I hate the crap, my bro-in-law is a scum bag user, drained every last cent from his parents with scare stories of gangs threatening to kill him if his debt isnt settled, pity they got paid really.

Dude. What kind of "Friend" Steals your car?

No friend does that mate.

I woulda layed charges on her.
WHy don't you try dig up some dirt, and get her caught with drugs in her possession?

As for the respect matter, someone who uses drugs doesn't even respect themselves, let alone respect others. They are deeply selfish people.

Good Christian???????????????????????????

Sorry - but you were a fool, and she was not a friend.

Don't mean to sound like a pr!ck, but forgiveness it is not a virtue I would subscribe to in that scenario. I bet she gets high again and does it to someone else, her prior choice to flog and thrash your vehicle should have had consequences.

You're on the right track now. Change what you are doing, associate with people who fit the life you want to lead and you won't look back.

I have seen it happen to lots of people over the years - particularly nice young blokes who have some sort of lovers balls or chivalrous thing going on for a girl that is just trouble.

If you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.

I find it hard to believe that a so called friend could do this to someone.
In my circle of friends if this happened to me, male or female they would have to suffer at the hand of the rest of my friends.
I would have no control over it.
This is how real friends should support you.
Cheers

The best advice I can give is to walk away. Forget revenge or whatever.

FWIW I think you initial reaction to not press charges was a good one and shows good character.

Just draw a line under it and move on.....

Yep just walk away, why prolong your agony, yes you might get her back and level the score, but then she might do something crazier to retaliate.

You stated you want to start a new life, go for it, forget about what has happened in the past (but learn from your experience) in a few years you will look back and laugh

Yes you can make a complaint within two years of the incident. Other more serious charges (like rape) have a 25 year limit but even those limits have been overturned in many cases (e.g. alter boys vs catholic priest, students vs PE teacher etc).

I don't mean to be rude but...

At the time she nicked your car, were you 100% law abiding? Often it is hard to make a complaint if u are worried they'll dig up any minor thing on you (or exaggerate, or even lie) to get u busted. If u are concerned about that then here's a plan.

Call crimestoppers. Tell them that she has drugs and is distributing them (this isn't lying because if she has even shared or given on tablet, one strip, one bud etc to anyone it is distributing). Tell them her name, address, where she may keep drugs, drop names of all her friends (becasue at least one of them will be found in possession and will squeal on her to have a charge dropped) and name her supplier. If you wish to exaggerate then that is up to you.

Before you make the call, drop into the cop shop and ask about making a complaint against her. Mention her name but don't make a formal complaint at that time.

This will be noted on the system and when he place is searched or she is questioned the cops will come to you and will want you to make a complaint against her. Tell them you are scared of her and her mates and they will put out an AVO againt her. They will do this automatically and it won't come from you at all. This protection order will protect you and your property. Make sure u tell the cops that she has many firends that u don't know of but they are more than capable of inflicting harm.

Hopefully she will receive a mention on drugs charges and theft. She will make bail (assuming someone posts for her - usually $1000). It is then time for you to stay at a friends place.

Take photo albums with you and anything else of value. If you want to be dishonest you can kick the krap out of your windows and walls and trash the place and call the cops and say you don't know who did it. They will harass her continually for this. It will be raised in court and you will be called as a witness. Make sure you say that you never saw her or her friends damage your house. She will see that you are not dropping her in it and may appease her. You can choose whether or not to follow through with the complaint about the car. If you do, you will have to be a witness and she will be there.

For the record, I don't condone lying. If u lie it may come back to bite you.

The police will do their level best to get druggies in jail. A conviction for trafficking, distribution or production gets a lot of kudos and may even mean a promotion.

Make sure all your stuff is clean. No weed, no drugs, no alcohol. If you follow through with the complaint about the car they will try to discredit you. Many don't care about car theft but drugs charges are pursued relentlessly.
