Default Buying an XR4

Hi Guys

It looks like I will be buying a new XR4 tomorrow if the tradin deal works out. I am looking for some advice from the wise who have had an XR4 delivered new.

What issues did you find on delivery?
What brand of Cruise control did you have fitted I can't see an option on the Ford site
Blue Tooth again I can't see an option on the Ford site so what brands and experiance have you guys had.

The XR4 will join my XR6 Turbo Ute and Ford Territory in the Family fleet. I am selling/Trading 2 Barina SRi's on it.

The irony! I remember having a heated discussion with yourself about the Fiesta being a "shopping trolley," and the Barina's you had being better cars. Now with a bigger, more powerful engine in the "shopping trolley," its worth buying!

Either way, top decision mate, they're nice cars, all the best!

The XR4 wasnt around back then

But on that topic SRi vs XR4 I didnt see or feel much a different between the two cars on the test drive. If Holden hadnt sold out and done the Deawoo thing I might have been buying a different car.

At the end of the day it is being brought for the kids to drive I will mostly stick to my XR6 Turbo.

I can’t believe that Ford don’t fit cruise control to what is effectively their top of the range Fiesta! That Punto is starting to look very attractive!
I’m looking for an economical daily driver as I don’t like driving the GT every day in traffic.
My Heart says “Ford all the way” but I’m having a hard time making it stack up.

The Punto is $4000 more drive-away for a slower car with numb steering and no pedal feel, and poor forward visibility (super long dash, super slope down bonnet), poorer handling and braking... glossed over with lots of toys. And diesel fuel economy, I suppose.

i've had mine for just on 6months and have done about 9000kms, so far the car has been great to drive, its better now that its loosend up a bit.

My only issue is a few rattles, the major one comes from the back right side of the car, and i beleive this may be the answer to that problem

http://www.fordstownerssa.co.za/foru...st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Other then that the car always keeps me smiling.

I got my Colorado Red one from Denmac Indooroopilly for $25,500 driveaway with mats and a full tank of gas......gives you a ballpark figure to aim for, good luck with it all.

My kids dont think so the ungreatfull little grubs...

You see they use to have 2 Barina Sri's between them (3 Kids) to drive. I cracked one day and removed open access to the cars. They need to present a good case now as to why they need a car.

I have made them use public transport when they cant present a good enough case to take a car. And now the pool of cars will be down to 1 instead of 2.

So they hate me at the moment.

Leave generation "Y" alone....They're writing off Commodores quicker than you can say:" Watch out for that pole!"....That got to be a good thing.

But its not their fault when someone puts a pole in their way. Its the poles fault for being there.

"Y" is it the pole's fault???

Probably global warming is making them grow to quickly, that the P-platers don't see them in time...
