Ford should just bite the bullet and move in manufacturing colonoscopes.
That way all their loyal customers can just bend over and take it up the ____ |

What’s the problem with this? There is a market for a pick up this size, not everyone wants a Ranger size pick up.

I agree.Over the years utes have got bigger and bigger.I really think there is a market for utes around the size of the 1980,s Hilux,Courier,Nissan 720.Now the Rangers etc are bigger than Landcruisers and F150,s were. Not everyone needs a ute the size of a small truck for running around building sites etc.

I would love to see what Ford Oz could come up with if they got their hands on the new rear drive CD6 Platform.
They could easily develop a Sedan and Ute off of it. All of the hard work is already done.

This would sell bonkers. So many young guys and girls would love a Ute like this. Being 4 cylinder petrol it will be dirt cheap to run and reliable
Commodore and Falcon utes are getting on now. So many farmers out here I could see them wandering into town and putting down 20k on one of these for their son or daughter. Cheap, reliable, safe. And good for the trips between home and uni or work |

I remember hearing about this earlier in the year, I suspect it will be for Africa and South America where those little utes are still popular.

Right idea, wrong platform. Mustang based 'Ranchero' would be amazing for those of us in hotter, drier areas like Oz and the US South/South America/South Africa/ME.
That said, if you've seen Russian snow footage and people driving stuff like little AE95 Corolla wagons through it, this would be a hit with the AWD in the snowy Northern realms.

Could fill a nice niche for tradies and farmers that don't need a massive diesel platform to lug around smaller loads.

Farmers won't touch this with a four foot pole if it has no clearance, can't carry near a tonne and is not diesel.

Farmers perhaps no, but what about the inner city and suburban businesses that needs something that is light on fuel, easy to park and can carry several hundred kg?

Yep, I still see heaps of em around here on farms. They were like the Jap equivalent of the French farmers favourite the 2CV.

I was simply pointing out that farmers would not be interested in this vehicle as others had suggested they would in previous posts.
