Default 6 hour relay 2008

I am pleased to confirm that we have 2 teams entered for the 6 hour this year. :
We have 11 drivers, and need any helpers willing to come down. You don't have to be a mechanic- just be able to give a hand in all kinds of things- from timing stuff to helping guys with tyres and fuel.......

When Saturday Aug 30 (practice) and Sunday August 31 (race day)

Please let me know, and we have room for one more driver, due to a shattered race engine from Rick N .......

Hey you two,

Fabulous !! Thanks I will add you to the list.

XRNIL8, and to anyone needing accom, Mark who owns the Cowes Caravan Park is a club member. Give them a buzz.... - I have a house, but it's already full.... ohh .. if you are game (and I'm not sure if his place is full - not of alcohol but of beds)- maybe GRNKPR has room ??????

3 Weeks to go............ The shirts look great (thanks to Vin) and everything seems to be coming together like organised KAOS.

Good Luck to both teams and all of the people involved. Its look like it will be a good weekend and a bit of friendly rivalry as usual with Team Red whilst we are sipping Latte's..................

This is a great event for any one thinking about getting involved in this type of events you should make the time to come down and have a look (no cost to get in) and there is 50 Teams competing i.e. 50 cars on the track at one time - not even V8SC have that many on the track. If you are unable to make it, dont forget that we still have another Club Day at Sandown this year and DECA next weekend.

I resemble that comment : .......

The teams as they stand as present:
Falcon Hell
Keith - EB XR8
Grasshoppr - EB
GRNKPR- XR
Chris - XE
XR06 - EF XR6
Matt- Beemer...

Falcon Hot
Vin - F6
Alex - P'suit
Carey- AU Rebel
the Mayor- BA XR8
Steve - BA XR6

Fingers crossed Carey gets his fixed and will be right for the weekend.

We think we have out stuff planned, but can't work where the 7th table will go with the coffee machine and the fondue fountain

Again as stated- if you can help out please contact me - many hands makes light work............

We are getting closer and closer....... we can't wait!
A couple of changes- Carey is now in an EB after his mishap at Sandown - twice - and Locky joins us in his beemer- Locky's dad mark is the club member with the beautiful T-Series who also owns the Cowes Caravan Park..... they don't have far to travel!!!

Team shirts are done, a small contingent of helpers are heading down, so if anyone wants to come down and help, drop me a pm.

Cheers,

Well what a weekend..... !!!!!

I think everyone would have been asleep on the couch by 9pm last night......
I am uploading pics to the website now, and will add a few here shortly...

We had sunshine, clouds, rain and hail - and still we survived! Although we had a few offs, and 3 cars out on saturday, we regained one and had NO problems with cars on Sunday.

Drivers - I can't thank you all enough for being a part of the teams, and i think grasshoppr summed it up with how amazing our teamwork is- i don't think brake parts have ever been so well tracked...!!!!! Alex and Jim were great in helping get grasshoppr back on track for Sunday. Locky came on board a week before, had not met a lot of you, but was immediately welcomed...........

Our pit- b1tches, Brute6 and Steve- you guys got hot, drenched, hailed on but still you did it with a smile on your face. Timing boys- mark, damon and Xr lightenening, same thing- standing up on the roof seeing that lightning and storms coming, I'm surpised you didn't run for the hills earlier! As ususal, Motiv8 was there all weekend on hand to help everyone, and it's all those other things we don't think of that he does that makes a massive differencce : ...(although he has given me his lurgy)Jim, Mark C, Mark Stackpoole who 10 mins after turning up was getting his hands dirty, Chad who as he was leaving was upto his elbows in grease - all the little bits make a MASSIVE difference. L.A, Lisa D, Michelle - thanks also for your help.

It was Matt's birthday yesterday so we gave him a big song in the pits - Matt I hope it's a memorable one! Although we didn't win, we beat TEAM RED : :

See you all tomorrow night for a drink and a chance to relax - I'll put what i have onto CD and show that along with the DECA pics.

It was great to see all of the team work going on at all levels from general helping to assisting in fixing cars - even if it was 10pm on Saturday night getting Grasshoppers car back together.

Despite the usual conditions of Phillip Island (4 seasons in one hour...), the two teams, although not battling it out at the pointy end of the grid certainly did have their own competition going between them - New vs Old!!! As well as beating Team Red.

This was a great weekend to be part of and can only hope that next year I will be out there on track having a bit of fun in my car :eclipsee_

And GBG I just didnt give you that lurgy, I was simply sharing it as I dont like keeping everything to myself and was taught to share with others :

What a weekend.... I have finally thawed out....

Well done to all of the drivers (and machanic's) and everyone who helped out....

The result doesn't matter as much so long as we had a good time. Beating Team Red was a bonus....

Well after my drive home, I pretty well went straight to bed!! To sum up the whole weekend, I had a absolute ball!!!! : : Its an event, that no matter where you are in the results, its an awesome event to be involved in. Standing on pitwall all weekend, keeping the drivers in check with what they were doing, I love this event!! One car or another, I'll be competing next year, I have a couple of avenues that I'm looking at, but I'll be there!!!
Events like this bring the term - TEAMWORK - into perspective. When everyone is mates with everyone, from the drivers, to everyone helping out, to the friends and family and other club members that came down to support - Thanks to all that came down to the Chilly Cold Island!!!! Yeah, Steve and I got soaked, but it was all fun!!! Beanie's and gloves do wonders!!!

Bring on 6 HOUR 2009!!!!!! : : : :
