I know I have been on AFF for a while now, however it seems that I may be spending a little more time on this part of the forum so I figured I'll introduce myself and my car for those who don't know me.
My real name is Simon and I am one of most biased Ford fans you'll ever know. I've grown up around computers and sadly not the most knowledgable car enthusiest around. For the past 4 years I have been driving my 06 Focus Zetec and just yesturday my father come to my place to leave with me our 82 Meteor Ghia. My Grandmother was the Meteor's second owner and althrough I'm not sure when she got it, she sold it to my mum in 91. I started to drive it when I was learning to drive mostly, to and from school and I drove it a little after I had got my licence. I bought my first car (the Focus) in 07 and soon after my brother started driving the Meteor everyday for work. The Meteor has always been very well looked after as per all the cars my father has taken care of, and the Meteor has never really had any major issues. 2 years ago the car blew its head gasket while my brother was on his way home. This inspired my brother to buy a Fiesta now leaving us with 5 cars sharing a 2 car garage. My father was then looking at taking the Meteor to the local wreakers however since it is such a good car for its age, and the issue was only the head gasket I was able to convince him to get it reparied so that I could drive it as an everydayer whilest the Focus could sit safely in the garage away from shopping trolleys and the like. We took the repair of the car pretty casually and also took the time to source some parts and fix a few other leaks and such at the same time. Just yesturday my father dropped it off at my place and I was quite happy to see it in my garage sitting beside the Focus finally. Today I took it to work and back. A good 120km in total, and I must say it was nice getting to know my old friend again. Certainlly a very different car to drive to the Focus. I posted a pic taken a year ago in the laser owners thread and I'll get some more once I have given the car a through clean.

Looking forward to this.
Good to see you hold onto it as well. I'd love to be able to get a nice TE Cortina ... as it brings back memories of when I was a kid ... and my parents bought it as a demo in 1980. Would love to get one back and bring it back to it's former glory (and a bit more.)
