If some of you guys get bored tonight you might like to come to Calder Park to watch Sunny race the 'green machine'. Were heading off about 6pm, so far Dansedgli (Dan), Damo, myself and Sunny are going and I think FPVWPN (George) said he was gonna race his Dev 5 kitted EF as well. If you wanna meet up my mobile number is in my sig.
cheers Doug. |

15.3 for the first run, crap launch/car was over heating
14.5 for second run car was cooler and got 60 foot time of 2.3 14.3 for the last run got a 2.2 6 foot He reckons it could have gone faster still but only got in 3 runs so next time i guess!

Yeah. I think the EA was punishing you for the thrashing.
She did give you three warnings for the three runs you did. |

Calder was crap because Sunny had to wait so long in between passes. They kept on sweeping the track and stopping the racing and it took AGES! Sunny only got 3 runs like NFS said, which was pretty poor for $55 IMO. Heathcote is way better.
Well after watching the car go faster on every run, I'm confident it has a 13 in it. Just gotta get off the line quicker. The auto really does suck for drag racing. Dan said he used to stall up the EB with the handbrake on and just sit on the line until he got almost full boost and that got his 60ft times to 1.6 I think he said. So if Sunny can do that, and get a shift kit to quicken the changes, it should get in the 13's. Not to mention that it was a rather warm night which wouldn't have helped either. Thanks to Sunny and Damo for the entertainment on the way home....LOL ;) |

Good to see him get out there and give it a go. 98mph shows potential. Get a better diff ratio in there, the 3.08 won't be helping his cause. When the weather gets a bit cooler, we should go to Heathcote one Sunday because it's quiet you get as many runs as you want.

Nice work sunny! thats an excellent start... the hot weather really sucks for turbo's, you'll be amazed at how much better it goes in the cool.. did you change manually or let the auto do its thing?? i found mybest times were in economy mode and letting the auto change itself!!!

my best time for the night was a 15.117 @ 93.64mph (2.343 60 foot)
compared to my best time ever which was 14.878 @ 91.81mph (2.189 60 foot) so it seems i've got more power but not getting off the line very well... i seemed to be axle tramping a fair bit with launching, either that or getting alot of wheelspin. and the 14.8 was when i had the ea gearbox better first gear, now i've got an el box so 1st gear is a bit slower, so I think need better gearing and maybe anti tramp rods or something? also the 14.8 was done on a freezing cold night, and last night was really hot |

The engine/turbo setup was running A1 besides in the first run, where the car sat idling in drive for about 30 minutes, with the bonnet down while the track was cleaned.
Everyone there that had been before said that they were running at least .3 seconds slower than they normally would, I'd imagine that there would be a bigger difference in a turbo car. The things that were holding it from running a 13 last night were: -390,000km 3.08SS diff -Slipping non shift-kitted auto -Gas Tank -30 degree night -ИИИИ launch (ИИИИ driver). It was my first time drag racing, so I don't know how to launch or anything that well. I was pretty confused on my first run and the helmet really ИИИИ me. On the second run the car sat in line for 45 minutes with the bonnet up, and a couple of us pushed it down to keep it cool. That time was also drive-in drive-out the car as it is on the street besides a set of stockies. Next time I want to take the bar off. Thanks to everyone who came down to watch, and to the mad dog copper who stacked his VX for the entertainment! BTW Doug, my rear tyres are still RW!!!!!! sssshhhtt du du ssssshhhhtttttttttttttttttt du du sssssssssssssssshhhhhhhht du du du du du du du. Post some of the pics up as well Douglas! Sundeep |

And Mikal I was manually shifting the gears on the auto. If I use power the torque converter gets confused and locks/unlocks at random, allowing the engine to free-rev high in the rev range. In economy it shifts too early.
How do you launch yours? Sundeep |
