G'day everyone..
First post on the forum, but after using what i know to find the info i needed i couldnt find too much. So now im putting the feelers out for some info! Ive got a TC Cortina (crossy) and i would like to go an MSD 6AL ignition system, or open to other options if this will help my issue? The motor isnt standard, 40", cam (14650), close to 11:1, HEC electronic ignition coil, But the issue ive got, is that its a 76DA block, with the dip stick up the back ( cortina i believe ) and the only dizzy ive seemed to find is a 2 wire electronic jobby which im already running. Which is fine, if it can be used with the MSD or another ignition controller? Otherwise, what other options do i have for distributers? Ive tried sitting an XF dizzy body in the block, but once it moves the slightest bit, the side of the dizzy body fouls on the block. Any help would be fantastic. If i knew a combo of various different bits, im not affraid to make a frankenstein dizzy, if it helps the issue |

Most use the tfi dizzy, it's the dizzy from the fuel injected 250. That's what I'm using but with a msd street fire ignition box.
Use the 6al, with the street fire my timing is locked. Still a good improvement but the 6al is better because you can program in the advance curve. 6al costs more but everyone says it's worth it. Last edited by winton; 03-05-2015 at 06:50 PM. |
