hi all
i have an intermittent clunking noise from the rear of the deo wagon. happens in slow speed turns or bumps it is still under warranty so i am going to get it checked, but does anybody have any ideas what it could possibly be> sounds like a loose exhaust, but i checked and the exhaust is bolted secure etc.....

No, it will not be axle tramp because there are only axle stubs at the rear of a Mondeo and they are not driven - that happens at the front. Could be one of many things, but two come to mind: 1. The spare wheel is not properly secured and moves when cornering or traversing a bump, or 2. the fuel tank is full and you are getting fuel surge which hits the top surface of the tank, but this noise is more of a "swish" than a clunk, but in our car it is quite low in frequency. Hope it turns out to be the wheel and you can fix the problem yourself Cheers
