Howdy,
My 5 month old 10,000km Mondeo Titanium MD has developed a tedious squeaky drivers seat, with the noise coming closest to the corner the seat belt buckle. Curiously if I moved the seat to the forward most position, the noise goes away - but I can't drive with my knees like that and need the seat to be a long way back! I have tried peering under the seat with a torch etc, and I can see a lot going on and more cables than I have ever seen in a PC! - but its impossible to identify what the squeak is coming from. Has anyone please seen a simple guide on how to expose more of the seat so I can get a deeper look? If the leather padding can be made to come away, that might help. Thanks! |

My previous MD Titanium Wagon had exactly the same. Took it to the dealers multiple times to no avail. I solved the problem though, it appeared that I had the seat down as low as it could go, so what I did was bring it up one easy notch up and the squeak disappeared. So maybe just try playing around with your seat base / back settings...

Wow, that's brilliant - thank you very much!
Yes, that was all I needed to do... raise the seat by 1mm and the problem went away. To think how close I was to buggering up the seat by trying to take it apart! Thanks again. |
