Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!
Top Holden of the Week Managing a best time of 11.63 @ 120.25 MPH, mental is just one of the words you could use to describe this crazy FC Holden ute. Don’t let those eyes fool you, this is one angry beast! Top Japanese of the Week This clean white S15 Nissan Silvia featured a few nice aero pieces and put that mighty SR20 motor on show, smashing the quarter mile with a best time of 12.93 @109.99 MPH. Top Rotary of the Week This was one of the more understated RX3’s we’ve come across, rocking a simple silver paint job rather than the usually candy colours. An understated look, however, by no means meant that it didn’t pack the same kind of oomph we expect from rotaries here at Sydney Dragway, flying down the strip to an insane best time of 9.69 @ 138.73 MPH. Top European of the Week The spiritual successor to the almighty SLS AMG, the new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is certainly one hell of a machine. This particular example ran a best time of 11.86 @ 124.49 MPH, proving just that. Top Ford of the Week With an air filter peeking out of its bonnet hinting at the kind of speed that it’s capable of, this otherwise understated XE Falcon managed a best run of 14.82 @ 95.74 MPH. Commentator’s Pick of the Week Humble family SUVs such as the Ford Territory are definitely a rare sight to see here at Sydney Dragway. This particular example, is no ordinary Territory (that gaping hood scoop is a hint!) with its boosted power plant propelling it down the quarter mile to a best time of 12.99 @ 110.90 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Next Race 4 Real is this Wednesday June 29, 2016. See you there!
