Where I am in Dandenong I'm not susceptible to flooding, unless the level of rain warrants an ark, but the water was pooling in the back yard - at which point I realised this was very heavy rain. Neither the lawn or garden has been watered by me this summer and would have soaked up a bit first. Just walking outside and the extent of the "damage" is some of the bark from the garden beds has floated out and is sitting on the driveway. That is the worst I've copped while living here. It appears this area copped some of the heaviest rainfalls

Many local streets had water rising up to nature street level in Ferntree Gully.......a lot of rain.........but bad drainage due to too may GUM leaves in the gutters and a POXY KNOX council that can't be *^#@ed organising a regular street cleaner to ensure clean street gutters.

Got to love the number of people who think "yeah I can drive through that"
Waist deep in my street. Can't find anybody local who's ever seen it like that before.

Massive dump of rain. 115mm so far, since 6pm aedt.
We had 60 odd mm in 30 odd minutes.

Around our house had parked up cars, because they drove through the water and the engine stopped.
Late series Merc, I think ingested water. Sounded like a diesel (I think it was a diesel powered one), and was puffing out white/grey smoke and then sounded like a hydraulic lock had happened.

The whole area was cutoff for a period, it was like ants scampering everywhere (people in cars trying to get home)...

Most rain I've ever seen fall in that period of time ever.

So far the tally is, 4 cars pushed out and 5 cars near our house that don't go anymore. LOL!

Hoppers/Werribee got smashed.
I was at work in Tullamarine and talking to my misses at home while checking the BOM website.
She was saying how the roads were flooded and I was trying to tell her to get inside as it was about to get worse...
Her response "The sky is not bad"
I said " Shut up and go home"
15mins later she text'd me and said "Whoo, it's pi$$ing down even harder now"

God bless vagina's, 'cause there aint a hell of a lot else to love!!

(I love my misses, don't get me wrong but when I'm telling her to walk back home and stop filming people trying to drive through flooded roads as I'm looking at the BOM radar.... Get home!)

hehe, thats some smackdown there!

Theres water over the road on the princes hwy just before the little river turn off, heading into melb from geelong.

police were there to reduce the traffic into one lane where it was dry. Would of been bad hitting that at 100km/h (at 4am in the morning) as there is low light in that area.

I think the werribee road that merges onto the princes hwy was blocked due to floods as well.

Take care.

We could hear the rain belting down outside, then just before The Lords Prayer, the entire ceiling let loose with a torrent.
Every downlight, ceiling speaker, air-cond duct cascading with water, It absolutely poured in!
I've never seen anything so bizzare, with funeral staff scampering around in their sodden suits trying to put rubbish bins, buckets etc under all the leaks (not a hope in hell of stemming the tide, btw)
End result was everyone except the celebrant, Jason the hubby, their 4 young kids and the deceased (naturally) were "evacuated" to the foyer and the service completed through the foyer doors.

As a footnote: Bridget (who was only 37) drove a modded Rspec Typhoon after a string of hot HSVs.
A gorgeous, gutsy young lady taken way way too soon!
R.I.P. Bridget!

We got smashed in Elwood. The courtyard outside the master bedroom has a drain in it. this had a spout of water at least 6 inches wide coming out of it. Had a river running through my unit. Two bedrooms of carpet under 1 inch of water. I am moving out on Monday anyway - guess there is no need to steam clean the carpet now!
