Something strange going on with my wp fiesta zetec, I've noticed over the past week that whenever I make a sharp turn, I can feel something scrapping the left foot rest. Does anyone else have this problem? What's going on???

Might be the black plastic wheel well guard thing... Could have popped off and be scraping when turning?

The arm that controls the steering in both the fiesta and the focus is exposed in the foot well. So in the focus (which has no foot rest) if you put your foot up there and turn the wheel you can feel it scraping on your foot.
By the sounds of it your foot rest has moved up a tad and is knocking on the steering rack. Have a look under there, or take it back to ford cos its not safe to drive it like that. |

You succeeded in Explaining the post becasue I had no idea what Atelier7 was on about. Something scrapping the footrest? lol I couldn't understand enough to put two and two together... Anyways that aside, you are dead right amlohac. The steering column is exposed, and if you let your foot go high enough you will feel it turning on the top of you foot when you steer in ANY direction. If the footrest has moved to now be resting on the steering rack then It should be moved. Just take the Fez back to Ford Atelier7 and they'll fix it. Good luck. |
