Default Today's election

If you want to post about today's election, keep it civil, non-partisan and polite.

I can't believe the polling station I went to, a new school in a location that essentially did not exist at the last election was not offering a democracy sausage.

How many times did you vote?

And yes, Bunnies should enter politicking. At least you’d get a cabinet that lasted three years without sudden change or deterioration.

Won a few hundred bucks on the NSW state election

Looking likely I'll be winning a few hundred bucks on this election too

Everything is coming up Franco

I postal voted so didn't have to turn up to the voting centers and deal with the flogs with the how to vote cards and the local MPs trying to force conversation or other tossers who recognise you in the line and want to chat.

Don’t rely on Poll’s.

Listening to some of the commentary from the losing team - I get the impression it is the fault of the voters

What with a bit of bread.
I remember forking out $6 for a German hot dog with toppings of late, not bad, snag was about 12in long but the bun only 6in long, had to hang about as they were as slow as dishing it up.

But in Darwin their was a Danish hot dog place once back in 1986 best hot dog ever, can't remember what they cost but we could not care about the price they were that good.

The line at my polling place moved quite quick. I was surprised. The place was also a sausage fest. I wasnt there for that reason, i wanted to have my say. Anyrate, i voted at 10am, but i started looking for a parking spot at 930. Thats what annoyed me. So many people with small cars leaving gaps that are half a car legnth. I drive a larger car. And to add to my irritation, when i found a spot, reverse parrellel parking the barge people decided my blind spot was a great place to cross the road. I saw it coming so yes i stopped and nobody got run over, but, the whole voting thing went so smooth and parking was my biggest stress about the whole thing. Even the annoying people flapping around political flyers were polite. I always decline as its not like the election was called yesterday, ive had time to decide. And save a tree feed a whale or something.

You'd think the sky was falling, that's why I love social media because it's such an echo chamber of particular views that they talk themselves up and they all think things will fall a particular way.
"I'd bring you some of Alex Turnbull's tweets but his account has disappeared from Twitter."
No surprises there.

Antony Green calculated around $1500 a vote for the UAP from his $60M advertising.

Yes, a convenient excuse as to why Labor went nowhere in QLD - a certain mine development kept to going through the hoops for 8 yrs had nothing to do with it.

Clive will have ScoMo on speed dial for the next four years. Giving him preferences will mean anything Clive want's , he'll get now...........

Bill Shorten was about as popular as Tony Abbott.

One thing in ScoMo's favour is no Turnbull, no Abbott in the background. We might actually get a Prime Minister that last's the full term..........

There is one way this can be the trifecta for the LNP

They won the election - tick
Tony Abbott lost his seat - tick
They score majority government - awaiting results

They're now free of the influence that Tony Abbott held over the LNP.

If they score majority government they can end this Zali Steggal persons political career within a single term, because the Government won't need to put the feelers out for support in the senate, Zali is essentially powerless.

It doesn't matter if she stands for climate change and all other sorts of kittens, sunshine and rainbow feel good things, she literally will have no power to get anything changed and then the constituents within Warringah will turf her out and go back to the next candidate the LNP fields there.

Her political career will be remembered as assisting the LNP dispose of Tony Abbott's influence over their party - quite the useful idiot.

Ideally for me they end up with a minority government because theres an extra $200 in it for me if that occurs
