Outstanding and congrats to all at Ford.
Awesome sales by Ranger and Everest right up there with Prado also.

Great effort by Ford, 5,728 Rangers (5,147 4x4 and 481 4x2) and 1,271 Everest
Hopefully, more of those buyers waiting in queue get their new vehicles before Christmas.

How and why are people buying the Hilux over the new Ranger?! It makes no sense at all! Are these just existing fleet deals Toyota are enjoying? The Hilux is so average compared to the new Ranger!

Good to see the Everest up there against the Prado... Another car that makes no sense to sell in the numbers it does.

Couple of big calls there.

Prado - is a bit bigger inside and has a strong history and brand pull

Hilux - as above, really isnt that bad and yes they would have huge sales from resources rolling over leases

Its always a laugh, since the PX Ranger everyone else is always playing catch up to counter the PX Ranger with an improved vehicle, they've been doing it for the past 11 years, now the new Ranger is around they're again behind the 8 ball and playing catch up again.

Ford is the class leader in the segment, not neccessarily in sales but the vehicle itself.

Guys come on, being technically better has never resulted in guaranteed sales success.

I think the Ranger is helping change the culture, but Toyota jus have an aura to them that the common folk love.

T6 being better than the Mazda based Ranger actually allowed it to ascend and increase sales while Colorado languished. Hilux does have that auora built up over decades that sees a contempt for Ranger as a toy but slowly being dispelled.

It’s a tribal thing like the old Ford vs Holden rivalry

I get that but the Prado is so boring and unengaging a drive. The Everest handles and drives so much better and the interior space difference is marginal at best.

Again, the Hilux isn't bad. I didn't say that. I said that with the new Ranger, it's average and you'd be mad to look at the Hilux given its so dated and the drive again is so poor.

I give the Ranger and Everest a hard time on this forum, I know. But they are really great cars in the segment and are above the offerings from Toyota. Heck, I recovered so many Prados at Fraser Island with my Everest when we went there. They aren't all that off road nor on road. I just don't understand the fandom around them.

Next gen Ranger and Everest and streets ahead of Prado and Hilux, there is absolutely no comparison. If anyone asks what to compare them to I'd say one of the others (Isuzu/Mazda twins and to be honest, the Chinese as well) but keep Ford out of it, they are now in a league of their own.

Exactly, I'm not disagreeing with you.

But thats what separates us from the plebs, we're the 1%, let the plebs have their precious Toyota

I'm quite the critic of the Thailand Specials, it is well known I do not like Thailand Specials (Well, I like the one I own - nostalgia)

However, Ford has been the class leader of the Thailand Special since the release of the PX Ranger and they are yet again the class leader with the new one, no one holds a candle on the Ranger, the Hilux trades on its old reputation and the Toyota badge.

Ford was also the class leader in mini and small hatches, they might not have ever been the sales leader compared to Mazda or Toyota, but no one made a small hatch that stops, goes and steers like Ford Europe did.

Let’s not lose track of this being Ford catching up on a long list of orders
just like Toyota did with those huge deliveries earlier this year.

Honestly Ute sales are now Ford vs Toyota vs who cares

Fair call but this time next year will be a whole different story, Ranger #1 by the length of the Flemington straight.

Just wish I could afford/justify a Raptor as I still cant look beyond the exterior styling/front end treatment on a mid spec 2.0BiT.

I'd be more concerned about the size of the queue you'd have to now join anyway.

I like your enthusiasm but let’s see how things go after Ford catches up the back order of sales,
I have a feeling that Ranger may settle around 4,000 sales a month and maybe 1500/ mth for Everest
Ford has a habit of self wounding what should be easy money in the bank……

You’re not on your own, the prices go steep after a certain point, can always dream I suppose..

Ford's dark horse is Everest, can't wait for 2023 figures, will deliver as many as they can build, you watch it nip at Prado's heels and then smash it.

Ford USA has 86,000 orders for Maverick in North America, pity they couldn’t build that one in Thailand too..

I have seen many hints in here as to other models of Rangers coming in the near future.

Does anyone think there will be a model with a lift and larger tyres being a more offroad / touring orientated version in Diesel sort of like the FX Version?

I am not sure why they didn't offer this over the Sport.

I imagine there's an FX4 Max in the works.
Give it a year or two.

I just want an Everest Raptor.

On facebook there was a few camo'd mules spotted in vic high country not too long ago looked like could be testing the fx4 and possibly a more off road focused everest judging by the tyres etc

What happened to Mazda?
they are normally second behind Toyota with about 8,000 or 9,000 sales
Could it be shipping/ delivery schedule of have they hit a wall?

Think supply issues but from what I remember they moved from cheap high volume to more expensive lower volume sales

The old.."we can reposition ourselves as more premium by increasing our prices".... except while they are very good cars when you increase price and don't offer much more then the old model/old price you run into this vacuum of space, you're more expensive then your traditional opposition and don't have the brand image and history with buyers in the new price segment you've moved into...so you need to do more than your new opposition like Lexus did when it first started. Maybe the higher sales revenue will counter the drop in volume sales, maybe the switch to rwd platforms will help..maybe... but a dealership needs servicing traffic to make it's money as well.

Mazda never used to do fleet deals with rental companies, Hertz have heaps now.

They are nicely built, better than the Korean stuff. And drive nice, but like all the current cars I'm not liking all the safety tech stuff.
Why should I have to re-customize the car every time I turn it on?
I don't want lane keeping 99% of the time, I don't want auto stop, I don't want head up display, I don't want warnings when I'm speeding.

Can you imagine everytime you restated your phone it reset to factory defaults?

Why should I have to re-customize the car every time I turn it on?
I don't want lane keeping 99% of the time, I don't want auto stop, I don't want head up display, I don't want warnings when I'm speeding.

Can you imagine everytime you restated your phone it reset to factory defaults?
The old man is the same, he doesn't want a car with AEB, or lane keeping assistance - so when reviewers pan a car like the new WRX in manual for not having AEB then thats something that goes on his list to look at because he doesn't want this ****.

Should be a way you can disable this **** in options without it restarting every time you turn the car on - confirmation screen or something.
