Hi,
i'd like to send a big thanks to Admin for helping me out while being away. Im staying in an area well known for spamming etc, when i tried to log on it came up that my ip was banned. I felt a bit lost without being able to view/post on the forums here. A quick message to admin and not long after i was able to log in! everything is working perfect, as per normal. Cheers again.... Craig

Thanks guys - it's hard to maintain a balance between keeping the spammers out and knowing that our members (like most Australians) travel extensively.
Cheers Russ

This thread brings up memories of when I was working in South Korea. AFF doesn't work there at all.
I did try and contact admin via a friend back home but no reply. That was several years ago now anyway. And my living and working overseas days are pretty much over I think. Is there any rule as to why certain places do and don't work? It was a mish mash through several European and Asian countries if I recall. If I remember correctly, it was fine in the Gobi Desert lol... but not Seoul!

The criteria for adding an IP address or range to the blocked list is simple. Once 3 or more invalid registration attempts have come from an IP range then it is blocked. We usually start with quite wide ranges but narrow them based on travel requests from members.
There are a couple of places where it isn't possible to narrow them much but for most they can be fixed. Unless the request ends up in the junk box they are all actioned and responded to and I generally get 3-4 a day.. Cheers Russ
