I want to do the o2s, coils and leads on my AU V8.
What are the best items to fit? I see MSD make coils and they seem popular, are there problems with the MSD AU items? I know their E series coils are prone to fail. As for leads, I know top gun and eagle do them. I've been unhappy with the top gun ones in the past, I've had the fat Eagle ones and they seemed much nicer quality. Just a standard 175kw Ghia, I will be doing bolt ons though and I want quality stuff not rubbish that will fail in a few months. What are reccomended and what are the best sources? Thanks Windsor lovers. |

Ive run MSD coils on 2 AU's and sold probably a dozen more sets with no issues. No hesitation in recommending them.

MSD are good but you can't get an 'off the shelf' set - they have to be made. If you want straight out buy and fit I would look at ICE or Eagle. As for 02's - Bosch ones via Ebay, direct fit 4 wire green connector. Expect to pay about $120 for a pair.

I did see o2 on ebay for 40 each. I've used msd coils and msd made up leads via a1 in wa. I just ordered a new set of msd coils from summit cause I sold my last set, no problem recommending them. But won't order leads from them again took 2 sets to get the colour I ordered. Tried summit for a kit to make my own with no luck so ill be going with ice.

How much Bottledup? I found a thread about the MSD leads you were making years ago, looks like you had some problems with them? I can't afford to muck around with sending them back etc if the boots are wrong or not crimped right, I need the car.
I've found VDO O2s on ebay, price seems good. Can't see Bosch there, VDO should be good too I'd think? Am I going to see a difference with the MSD coils for the extra money? Even a slight gain in response/torque/economy would be worth it. Whoosha I like the Eagle leads normally, looks like I would save about $50 going for NGK ones though. NGK does them with two different styles of boot to suit the Normal/XR8 exhaust manifolds. Tricky thing is I'm planning to fit XR8 manifolds or even aftermarket when I find some. Not sure where that leaves me. |

I just bought 2 bosch O2 sensors, off the ebay seller you linked as I was waiting for a good excuse ($40 each ) to change them at 140,000 km.

There was an issue with a group buy conducted through my old work (A1s), both with suppliers failing to provide and a colleague seriously dropping the ball while I was on annual leave.
I'm not doing these in bulk, I keep a box of wire and the required terminals at home and will build sets as required. Hence why I'm only offering black coloured lead, and after several different plug ends being tested I've settled on 115* extreme duty MSD boots on all 8 leads. I've found that these will clear pretty much every head/plug/header combination. Pricing is $200/set including an Express Post bag Australia wide. |

Bottledups leads are great if you like leads that fall apart and are crimped together with a 10 dollar supercheap crimping tool, absolute junk

The leads fit nicely and feel great. Fast turnaround too. Big thanks to Bottledup.
All the parts are in along with the XR8 snorkel, new air filter and plugs. Also filled it with 98 to see if theres an economy difference. I drove it about 100kms today. Feels alot nicer. Very reponsive now and the economy was in the 11s after a short freeway run. It really runs out of puff above about 4K rpm, the next addition will be better headers and exhaust. Big thanks to all for the advice and help. |

Well i bought the bosch o2 sensors here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-BOSCH...28cf28f&_uhb=1
And installed them and then did an ecu reset (disconnect batt for 30 mins while shorting power leads). When i started the car it ran rough and the auto held on to gears a bit long and i have noticed a rich smell even at idle with higher fuel consumption (i think). Engine and trans ran smooth after a bit of a drive. I checked with forscan and i am getting over 2 volt swings from my sensors at idle when at running temp. I thought they could only generate up to 1 volt? Wtf?
