For a while now ive been looking at fairlanes/ltd in admiration. Especially since they.are no longer made.
I like em so much I bought a 96 LTD 5.0 with low km, absilutely mint car. So who else has a particular appreciation for these cars? Who thinks ford will bring them back? |

totally agree. owned a ZL fairlane and it was great. the old man has only ever owned fairlanes/ltd's and he currently has a TL50. great car. will Ford bring them back, yes but not as we know it. i think it will be fully imported

Love long sedans, family used to have a crystal mint green ZL and sold it years ago. I wish they kept it so I could have it.

There is something about them, you get so much for your money.
Gotta love the lil windsor efi v8 for just rumbling around town, that lovely rear legroom, packed full of features, I even like the chrome ltd wheels it come with. |

I love the Fairlane I saw a mint ZH in black I wanted, but it sold quickly.
I am currently seriously considering a WL Statesman in black. First time ever I have considered a Holden. Big black sedans are awesome. |

Ive always liked Fairlanes.. nearly bought a G8 back in 2006 when I bought my Territory Ghia as a lease car, kinda regret not getting the V8 Fairlane, but I was worried it would make me look older then I really am.

Paull - list of long wheelbase Fords is amazing. Yeah I sometimes look for BF Lane/LTD as a daily. Cool car cheap to run, (well better than the TS anyway)

Please have a thread on that one. I'm not real keen on fairlanes and LTDs (brother had a fairlane) but that one is decent.

yes i`ve always had a soft spot for lanes and ltd`s, the first ford v8 i ever drove and got to give a bit of stick and was a close to brand new, a 1976 silver (monarch?)ltd,........... fairlane marquis/ zc/zd in particular like these models, i`d happily have a modern version though.

My first was a ZK I got it when I was an apprentice back in 1990 I replaced it with a NC when I finished my trade then I got company cars for a bit then came time for a toy so we got a ZC, I love the things and if they were still around my territory would have been a lane as would the fairmont Giha before it

I'm currently looking for a BA-BF model with relatively low km (re < 80,000km). All the good ones seem to be in Qld, WA or Vic. Not much in NSW.
If anyone has one, be sure to PM me. I'm located in Sydney. **** |

One or both wouldn't happen to be for sale would they? There ate 3 from carsales in WA two reds & a bluey. My dream garage: FBT 001 (yes that's right number 001) Two FBT'S as above. Blue & a red. T1 TL50 T2 TL50 T3 TL50 x 3 (yes all of them) KR1STOs MTL50. (I know it was for sale, but I couldnt come up 16k to buy it) Plus the current red beast. With some ah, improvements. Am I being greedy? Maybe. I just "want" the the 3T3's they are virtually all different IIRC. So all three would be like having the same car, only different. (Murray walkers voice just came into my head after that). The previous owners would be allowed to drive them whevever they wanted, & id allow die hard F'Lane & Tseries enthusiasts to come & drive them once a year. Sharing is caring, & I dont think you'd mind.......

My dad had a LTD (1977 i think)the one with the RR Front, I think it was called a Silver Monarch. Had red velvet interior and a thermometer as a speedo. He had several as company cars, but this one was special.
Many great times in it as a kid. My mum once drove us from Sydney to the Gold coast and thought there was somethign wrong with it as it was shaking. My brother (10yo) leaned over and said "mum you are doing 180km/h!!!!" to which point she slowed down. Talk about a high speed lounge chair. I always wanted to buy one as a weekend cruiser, but do not have the space.
