Default Should I Buy it or Not ?

Gday Guys , just found out that my mates dad , has a 2001 AU Series 2 XR6 Ute , in his Wrecking yard that was delivered today . Its got 69xxx on the clock , and has exhaust system , tickford wheels and everything else that it usuallu comes with .. Hes asking $5k .. Hmm If i dont , someone else should make it into a parts car

point of this thread is?

for $5k it would have some damage to it and unless you had another $10k or so to fix it it wouldnt be worth it. if yuo wanted to part it out, i doubt youd get your money back from an xr6.

wheels are in good condition , Front Bar is Busted , Lights are Good , Panels are Straight , Motor is Good , Trans is good ,

Im Just wondering if its worth buying and wrecking or Buying and Transplanting the XR Motor into my car ..

probably not IMHO, depending on what your plans for your car are.

Cos its a ute, about the only things that would fit would be the wheels (which youve already got), lights, trans and motor. If its an XR6 the only different thing about the motor is the head and ECU anyway, and with a few mods you're in stock XR6 territory. Steering wheel would fit, as would seats, but downside is you'd have 2 mismatching sets of seats.

Ute exhaust is different to sedan so no good to you, diff gears would fit and would be worthwhile, but if its repairable, chances are that's what the guy will do - fix it and sell it off.

Fix the front bar on it, and put 10k on it. Thats if that is the only problem with it.
