Default AU/BA Tickford FPV ute?!?!???

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-AU-falco...QQcmdZViewItem
Just having a look through Ebay and I came across this. A lot of bloody work involved there and by the looks like they've done a good job. Bloody good price too. Manual, V8 and Brembos!

Its a An AU1 to I think. Just looking at some of the interior shot.

I like it. I think it looks tough. Wonder whether those are genuine front bar and bonnet and grille. I think for what it is, could be a bargin. Well maybe not. But it would be fun to have

If it's an AUI no wonder they did that.

: The only thing that makes me think it's a 1 is the shot of the cluster. To the left is the demister button on the pod. It's different to mine. And AU2/3 are the same. So must make it a 1. I think.

says it was built in 2000.

If i was going to do this I would go the other way - BA interior into the AU ute.

I'd just leave it as an AU, AU better than BA in all respects I say. Except maybe gearboxes.

I was actually thinking about this very thing. I would love to do this to my car. Its the best of both worlds imo. Tough as nails exterior with the best interior ford has ever made. Easier on a ute i guess though, don't have the rear end to contend with. I would imagine a rear conversion on an AU would be very difficult.

One of my mates, who has since moved to Brisy or the Goldie, has or had a ute that looked like that, AUI XR with a full FPV front end, all genuine apparently parts, side skirts, and BA XR6T suspension.

It's got an AUII cluster in it which would align it with a 2000 build, AUI didn't have the nice LCD dash like this does. It actually looks quite good.
