Default Finally hit the 100,000km mark

Tonight after work I cruised a bit to catch up with a few mates, and the odo flicked over from five digits to six.

Feels like I'm driving a much older car now that I say its done 100,000km's, but I'm glad I've bought an AU that will probably do ten times that if I look after it properly!

Now that its ran in properly, I might have to start saving the pennies seriously to get some of the good engine mods done

Bit of a pointless thread I know, but just thought I'd share it.

I have just turned over 96,000 in mine. Not looking forward to cracking the 100,000, All though i think its just a figure in my head . I mean its not as if cars these days will be worn out by 100,000.

Nah wasn't that low, I bought it in March with about 78,000 on the clock - that first AU Falcon cruise in June I was at about 85,000ish.

I just love driving it to tell the truth, probably not the best if you wanna keep k's low, but I often just get in it and drive for an hour or two with no particular destination, just driving because the car is such a pleasure to drive!

I have a photo somewhere of my odo at 88,888 - pity I couldn't get the DTE to read 888 as well because apart from the DTE it kinda looks like its in a test mode or something with all the 8's. Maybe I'll take another photo at 888,888 - here's hoping! :P

(I carried the camera with me in the car when I went out and knew it was gonna hit that mark, hoping like hell when it got there I could pull over to take the photo safely, things turned out well and I was able to pull up and grab the shot).

Think of your AU as a fine wine. The longer it matures (in km's) the better it gets. Six figures has been commonplace on my dash now for almost two years.

I'll never crack 100,000 at the rate I'm going.
The XR came out of the workshop for a couple weeks and now is going back to bed until christmas, when SMASA has another cruise

One of the reasons I bought an AU falcon is that there seem to be more examples of these with well over 200,000km (and still going fine) than any other single make of vehicle.
Here's hoping it doesn't dissapoint. Though to be fair, it'll probably be not far past 200,000 when I plan to trade it in for something newer. By that stage I'm guessing a BA MK2 or some such.

100,000 is a psychological barrier that further depreciates your car an extra grand or two. Glad I decided to sell mine before it hit that mark, but for those keeping theirs it's cool milestone to watch.

I am just about to hit 167,000km. My car is a 11/00 build so that equals 27,800km a year what equals 2,319km a month what equals 579km a week on average.

Your's has done 23,857 a year (It's 7 years old now)
That's 1,988 a month (12 months in a year)
That's 458km a week (52 weeks in a year)
That's 65km a day.

Putting it that way ... mine's a 10/01 build ... so just over 6 years old.
Making it easier ... I'll say 6 years old.

245,500km total
40,916 a year
3406 a month
786 a week

Although the first owner was a Cronulla council ... so they hardly used it anyway.

So I have had the ute for 2.5 years now (30 months)
In that time i have put 140,000km on it myself.

So that works out to be
56,000km a year
4666km a month
1076km a week
