Default My AUIII XR8 220(wife drives it actually)

ok I thought I take some shots of the old girl, after a mate restored the wheels on her this week.

its a 11-01 built 220KW series 3 XR8 auto.
Narooma blue/silver.
we purchased the car in Jan 05 with 87000kms.
we are the second owners, it was/is only serviced by our local ford dealer.
now it has 102000kms.(so in lets say 3 years we done around 16000kms!)

factory options are;

automaic transmission
leather interior
Premium sound
Premuim Brake package
headlight protectors
Bonnet protector
XR mats
Momo leather steering wheel and T-bar knob
Nokia console kit
Engine was hand built with pride by: W Marsicano :

Cost new $540000.(we have all the original paperwork for it)

my wife drives it, it was all standard up until last week when i replaced the two middle mufflers with some high flow 2.5" ones, it has a nicer sound now.

I LOVE IT :

Ah yes, one of the very first of the Series III's to emerge from Tickford. 16,000 km's over 3 years isn't doing the car any justice. What do you do, put it away and look at it? Nicely presented, lovely colour.

they slugged the original owner..thats for sure!

i love buying one owner cars....I always ask for the original sales docs, it make mee feel better that i just saved more than 50% hahah.

i had a fully optioned EF XR8 which was also a one owner,
bodykit
auto
16" wheels
sunroof
1600kg tow kit
airbags

and that was 50K+ in 1995 new! i got in 2001 for $16500 hahah

Thats what they were fully optioned, you can pick them up for around 18k these days, probably less, there is no better bang for the buck imo than a 220, brilliant package and they go like the absolute clappers.

That is a very nice tidy looking vehicle mate, they are a real stunner in my unbiased opinion

Hmmm yes I remember your old grey AU XR8, what ever happened to it, I knew you had sold it but did someone on here get it, IMO it was the nicest AU XR I have ever seen, if I didn't have mine I would have bought it as soon as you said it was for sale.

*looks at all these low-km AU's*

*looks at his 5 years/188k*

Maybe I need to do *less* driving?

Bloody nice 220 btw. I regret not finding a manual 220 before buying the VCT

Spotted you yesterday at Minchinbury on the Grt Western and later on that day in Castle Hill. I came up beside you at the lights and noticed the number plate TIC 302 and thought I've seen that before somewhere. So I did a search and found this thread that I remember reading before and I must say I am a little envious of you because you have a very nice ride!
BTW I was the Burgundy Fairmont towing the trailer.

I own an 01 XR8 220 these cars are aging so well somtimes I think they look fresher than the BA-BF xr series cars they just dont look like a 7 year old car. My AU has been faultless I also think these cars may become very desirable in years to come great looking car tic-302.
