i was going to say that , but thought otherwise ..

Cant you just use a Bosch GT40R , or Contact MSD or Rocket to see what can be Adapted to the AU Specs ?

What about Fireball , ive seen that setup on an EL , so it should work in the same Principle as an AU ..

Cheers
Daniel

EL uses a dizzy, EF & AU use coilpacks, and you can't just swap them over between.

Denso is Nippon Denso - they make plugs, coil packs etc mostly for Japanese cars, but also for Holden and Ford. They make a lot of the OEM stuff. If you get platinum spark plugs from Ford, chances are they are made by Denso.

Kind of, but not really. I think the plug ends are the same, but the coil packs are all new for AU1 - the reason they got rid of them in EL was that the EF ones were no good. So i wouldn't go using an EF coil pack in an AU, but an AU coil pack in an EF might be a good option, but will probably mean chopping and splicing wires (Ford tend to change the electrical plugs between series, for some reason)

AU2 are different again (AU1 have "inny" plugs onthe coil pack, AU2 has "Outies").

Does that mean you can put an AU2 coil pack in an AU1 as long as you change plug leads as well? Or are the mountings different as well?

I'll just get a new set off ebay. Really couldn't be stuffed replacing them though.

It's pretty easy - 2 x 7mm bolt/screw things, unclip electrical plug & leads, remove and replace.

Can you get to it without removing the manifold?
