Default AU1 Auto troubles

First of all the factory gas converter just it's self ($1200 later) just as I got the car from the folks as they bought a winnebago to go traveling. They paid for the converter.
Now the car doesn't always start unless you run the t T-bar up and down.
Is it just the inhibitor switch playing up and needs replacing?
I had a EL a few years ago that did the same thing but traded it before I got it fixed.
Cheers

Dave

I'm sure its the switch, i'm having to replace mine this weekend with the same problems you have...

Also the LPG convertor... i've been qouted less than $400 for a new convertor, installation, full system check and repairs, full Rego based inspection...

I figured it was the switch just wanted a second opinion. How much are they by the way??
I thought $1200 for a new converter was a "bit" steep, I won't be taking the car there in future, it's an auto trans specialist that does a bit of everything. I took my Pajero there to get the top rad tank fixed a few months ago and they told me they would take it all out and send it to Natrad up the road. Told him I could do that myself and not have to pay his percentage on top :
Cheers

Good onya mate! I laughed hard when i read it, and so did my parents (visiting)... as a past specialist (now consultant) i have many times encouraged owners to remove their radiators themselves and save some money... and always felt terrible charging to much to remove and replace from vehicles... many times we undercut everyone due to not feeling right about charging... i was a soft touch

It's the inhibitor, and if it's intermittent, then it probably just needs cleaning, not replacing. Jack the car up so you can get to the electric plugs on the side of the transmission (beneath the car). Unplug the connectors, and spray them liberally with WD40, or RP7. Reconnect, and it should be right for a while (mine was good for 18 months, then I sold the car, so it may still be going fine with just a clean)
