Thanks was hoping for a bit more than that for a factory V6 but like you said a starting place.

There must be some one with a MKII Cortina out there who has replaced the front shockers or are they the same as the Capri?

When I was looking for one 12months ago, rough ones but mostly complete for 6k and good ones without original motor but plenty of work done (vinyl and paint gen sports wheels) 13k, and for the couple of mints 15 to 18k were the asking prices. I made a note to ask a mate at the club about the Mk2 shocks next meeting but this forum should help b4 then.

What club are you in? I was in the falcon car club for too many years.

cortina capri car club of sa, small but keen group and very helpful. The historic reg helps a bit too. About time the powers that be look into extending historic reg to encompass special interest vehicles. Put a lot more peoples hard work on the road.

The wife and will be using a Cortina's as our every day cars. We were thinking about joining your club but need to get both cars on the road first.

Here are some pics of our small fords.

i like your mk2 cortinas, i had a couple as a young bloke, unfortunatley they werent a patch on yours mine was a 2 door and had a 4 door for parts ,mark2 was a big step from the mark 1, i reckon the steering was so much better with the nylon bushes than the old rubber ones, a great little car simple too.

Well no you don't actually as lots of the club have cars off the road for great periods of time. Come to the all British day at Uraidla and catch up with the corties there, your allowed to drive a non ford although I doubt you have one.
Your small ford collection at home is handy for putting a daily driver together why not use the capri? Closer pic if you have one.
The club started as a motor interest group then allowed the capri's and are seeking interest now from the later cortina owners as their buses turn 30 and become histerical. As you would expect some of the members have some very lovely MK1 and MK11's and you gotta see the ute. They are not just for looking at either as these boys and girls really can go.

city side. 2nd Sunday in February at Uraidla oval up Greenhill open to the punter at 10am. Or if your south the All Ford day at the Seaveiw Highschool on Sunday March 9th. is another place full of helpful Ford owners.
18k was the asking price. The delusional are out there putting a mill on a Falcon so why not. Sure its a bloody nice Falcon. Great avatar montyv8 how do I do that?
