Hi Guys
I asked this a week or 2 ago but got no replies, so I need to ask again. Wifes AU II. I fixed a couple of my door actuators, including the drivers door, however now after putting it all back together the door won't lock with the key, the actuator seems to constantly be trying to unlock so the only way the door locks with the key is if I unplug the actuator. Am I missing something simple or is there a serious problem. The car is unlockable and my wife just keeps nicking my XR8 instead. Anyone able to help please? |

I know that if you fit later model lock/actuator assemblies in the LHF door of an AU1, you have to perform a minor wiring mod to the harness at the BEM. Otherwise the locks will cycle after locked, then unlock. It sounds as if one of your doors is being read by the BEM as being open. Does the 'Door Ajar' symbol light up on the dash? It can also be an internal fault in the BEM itself, but you can't really be sure of that without a diagnostic computer.

Hi XR8-03,
Check the terminals on the actuator plug to the door that will not lock. Mine had corrosion on the the ones for the white and black wires to the actuator which made it open circuit so the system thought the door was open. Cheers, Silver AU. |
