I have searched the Central locking threads about replacing the actuator in an AU.
Having read them I just want to check this out. I got home today and the doors won't lock key key or remote. I hit the button and the car locks then unlocks (same with key). All the doors are closed ( I had taken off the roof racks today) and the light goes off for a sec then comes back on with the beep beep warning. Is it the Central locking actuator ? Uncle Ken :togo:

You bet ya. be surprised if it wasn't.
AU ones are not avail through Ford now only BA ones which are the same except for the plug is different. You can either do your own job on the wiring or you can buy an adapter for around 15 to 20 dollars. |

a lot lol, try a wreckers and just get the plug from ford, I have a plug, but that's not much to you, when I got it they were about $11 a bit over 6 months ago....
Also, the easiest way I found to figure out which one wasn't working is, stand at the drivers door with your ear next to the handle, then press the button, you should hear the lock cycle, repeat this for each door till you figure out which one is broken, it wont make a noise |

you can't get the gear on it's own, i got a ba one from a wreckers for about $70 i think and pulled the guts out of it, it was the whole lock assy, i got the cable from ford, but the actuator had the same plug as the old one, only ba ones won't work in the front of an au1...that's why I pulled it apart

Yep, thats the man, names Grant.
I rang the number on eBay and he'd had it transferred to his mobile, but was quite happy to chat about the locks even if he was in the middle of a golf game
