Default Spotted new Camaro

Driving home this afternoon i spotted a new Camaro driving down the Sth Gippsland highway, maybe heading to Lang Lang proving ground.

It was black with white camouflage patches all over the upper body, i did not get pics as it was driving in the opposite direction, a friend of mine with connections to HSV said he is taking delivery of one at the end of the year.

Even with the camo there was no mistaking the tough look :

Sadly I have spoken to the Chrysler people and the Challenger won't make it here within our life time. If it was I would not be driving a GTP.

I thought they were only going into production in the US at the end of this year. Regardless is this a definative answer that they will be available here in Aus?

Can you send me a link to this confirmation? My missus is a camaro nut and wants one of these to park next to the one she already owns. Sadly she hasnt been able to find out anything about Australian release.

They shouldnt be under camo, they are being driven around without camo as it is here in Australia.

The strange thing is, if you look closely at the 2 pictures of it, the white camo one in the outback and then the black one on the road, they both appear to have the same Vic rego (WHH011). Holden obviously swap plates over on a regular basis on their test cars.

The car is prototypical of most things american. From the outside, as far as the rest of the world is concerned, it is new, powerful, advanced, ground breaking, refreshing, leading and desirable but as soon as you look closer and go inside it is ugly, banal, chaotic, confused, idiosyncratic, gauche, anachronistic and parochial.

I suspect it will do as well here as the FTE Mustangs..........
