I'm looking to run a pod inside the standard airbox on my AU XR8. Does anyone know the biggest K&N pod filter that will fit inside my airbox?
thanks

I've got a K&N one in mine, 3" inlet and from memory its about 9" long, I did have to cut the corner off the lid though to make it fit. Otherwise i doesnt need any modification to go in - just clamps onto your MAF.
edit - just noticed your MAF is a 90mm one - you may need a bigger inlet one, or a silicon spacer to make the pod fit onto it.

What's the advantage of running a pod filter as opposed to just fitting a K&N replacement filter?????

Yep, that one should fit. I have "Big bertha" in mine; 3" neck, 5.5" round at the base tapering to around 3", and 9" long. Like B2tf, I had to remove some of the ribs on the inside of the airbox lid, and cut a small section out of the opposite corner of the bottom of the box, but other than that, it fits well.

A pod filter sucks alot more air in than the panel type filter. If you can have a pod filter inside the airbox then you can take advantage of having a good cold air intake which doesnt suck in hot air. You will notice better throttle response and a slight increase in power with the pod filter.
