Default Car Lighter

Sorry to be one big clutz, but how would I go about getting the car lighter to work? :

Pull it out and check wires... check the fuse's too...

Unless you just need to know how to use a the 'power' socket...

I just got mine fixed last week as mine wasn't working either. I just went to my local auto electricians and they fixed it for me..they had to pull the wiring out and re-do it, only cost 30bucks which i thought was pretty good!

If the fuse is OK and the wiring plugged in, check the back of the actual lighter part, they have a fusible overload link there, just resolder it if it is blown.

You just push the lighter right in till the head goes inwards... when its heated up enough, the head will pop back out, you then remove the lighter and use.

Ah, thanks buddy. Mine must be broken then because when I push it in, it just comes straight back out. That must be why I couldn't figure out how to use it.
