Putting XR6 Turbo injectors in my au, will it effect my tune?
Im hoping to get rid of a "hard starting problem" Will I need a fuel pressure regulator or?? Can you install an external fuel pump, while leaving the standard one inside the tank (labour costs) Will exhaust wrap really lead to corrosion on ceramic coated extractors?? |

1 it will affect it, the injectors will flow too much compared to standard. you can make use of the extra flow with an edit.
2 yes you can 3 apparently from condensation buildup, just remember even ceramic coated ones are still only made from mild steel...why would you want wrap on them with ceramic coating anyway? |

What's the point of the bigger injectors? There is no way you could outflow the originals (unless they're blocked) with an NA setup.

Bigger injectors wont work without an edit to recalibrate the fuel system to deliver enough fuel.
External fuel pump doesnt really make much sense, whack a Walbro in the tank if youre worried about it - utes are easier to do than sedans because you can get to the tank a lot easier.

Ive been told by two local mechanics, that they have to drop the rear - diff, suspension, axel etc = mega $$$$$ labour cost
injectors, Im not purchasing, already have them, so just wanted to see if I could use them with minimal fuss. Still too hot in the engine bay |

So what do you hope to achieve out of putting the injectors in?

The BA injectors aren't that much bigger anyway, and by the time you retune it to fit, you may as well get your correct injectors cleaned/reco'd.

Being that heat wrapping your extractors insulates better than ceramic coating, it does offer more insulation to do both and its done quite often, but normally they ceramic coat the extractors to make them last longer with the thermal wrap, the ceramic coat protects the mild steel, and are suppost to be coated inside and out, but how good the inside coverage is i have no idea.
I have seen brand new extractors fitted to a EF 6 with wrap that was a daily driver and were rusted out in 2 years due to heat wrapping.

You don't have to drop the diff, Ford here in Moree just slid it along, but still the hard way because they didn't have anything to lift the tub off or anywhere to store it while they had the ute over night
