Yeah it's coming down a little bit, just a shame the AU$ is weak against the US$ otherwise it would be even cheaper.

Whats the story behind the price drop? Did someone fine a huge stockpile of oil?

this was my initial thought too. prices were going up due to the dwindling supply and the high demand. as the 'global financial crisis' puts a bit of a squeeze on, demand may decrease a little but the reserves don't change. price comes down, people start using again and the demand is back. obviously the stories they tell to jack the price up don't have to make sense when the economy starts to fall. |

I don't think I'll lose any sleep if a recession in the states means cheaper petrol for me.

Winter is coming to U.S which was an excuse last year!!
It doesn't seem to be applicable now!! I would say the oil speculators have had their fingers burnt in credit crisis... Sheesh I feel for them !! Yea right !!!

I'll believe prices are cheaper at the pump when the price saving per barrel is filtered thru to the consumer. Until then, ALL petroleum companies suck

Just kidding, wish we had that here, even taking into account the exchange rate and making it approx $1.10 would be good, we get ripped off.

Now I have had time to look them up..... Silverado/Tahoe/Suburban 20mpg / Tundra/Sequoia 18mpg (4x4 V8 on both) Colorado 22mpg / Tacoma 20mpg (4x4 auto 3.7I5 Chev, 4L V6 Toyota) Traverse 24mpg / Highlander/Kluger 24mpg (bear in mind the Traverse is significantly larger, but closest equiv.) Impala V6 29mpg / Avalon 28mpg Malibu 33mpg / Camry 31mpg Well done to Toyota... they lose on.. pretty much all of them. I tried to find a Toyota equivalent to the Corvette, but couldn't. I didn't look up the Camry Hybrid and Malibu Hybrid, but i think they are pretty close together. Perception is more important than reality in a lot of these cases. |
