Default NZ Energy wise economy challenge results

Don't know if this was brought up and I missed it but the FG XR6 did pretty well I thought - 1641km averaging 7.9Lt/100km for the journey. Was as low as 6.9lt/100km on one of the legs. An HSV R8 LS3 Maloo ute managed 9.5 Lt/100kms. Goes to show its how its driven not what is driven.
A Honda Civic Hybrid won the event, can't remember what it averaged as each time I tried to read its performance I got so bored I fell asleep. :

Just to highlight, the Honda won because it was the cheapest to run over the total distance, not because it used the least amount of fuel or was the cleanest per 100km or what ever. Those titles went to the small Euro diesels, proving what a crock of Hybrids are, again.

And you're right about it's how the car is driven, my last trip from Auckland to Wellington was 7.56l/100km in the 4.0 Falcon, and shes not the ideal journey for getting good fuel economy.
