Default Charlie Cox Boned from Top Gear Aust

Yep what more could we ask for the despised leader of TGA has been deposed in a coup by a Jazz musician no less. (well he reckons he resigned) Yep James Morrison is going to host TGA, gotta say im very supriesed and delighted.

I have a distinct feeling that SBS & Freehand have been seriously reading the online forums and everyones disdain for Cox presenting style. I liked Warren from the beginning and Steve latter on in the series, I couldnt handle Cox at all.

So there is hope for a future for TGA yet.

James Morrison will be a winner. He is an accomplished driver as well as pilot so he knows about FAST and he has been famous for a long time so it probably will not go to his head.

TGA series 2 is looking much better already.

Woohoo!
As someone said things can only go upwards from here.
He did a crap job being the "driver" too for the first few episodes (you will notice the sitting position of the white nameless bloke is quite far back, and then after a few eps it changes to a bloke who currently drives a blue oval)

The more he spoke, the hgher pitch his voice got.

I think the cartoonist is great- quirky enough to throw a completely different view on it, and the woodley lookalike is starting to settle and do a good job.

James Morrison is pretty light hearted too, he will fit in well with the other guys. Not a bad steerer too, particularly in rally

Cox by name and nature, so adios! Morrison is an entertainer who can drive very well. He will make the show far more appealing to the masses, and me too!

Interesting.

Now all they have to do is flick that little weed with George W sindrome - hands & arms held gorilla style to make his svelt frame look BIG. Haha, like George W, it doesn't work......

Mr Morrison will at least get me watching series two. Just hope they address the other floors in the formula ie provide some CONCLUSIONS / OPINIONS.......

I saw Warren Brown in Peaking to Paris on the ABC and he was good in that. I was happy to see him in TGA... Onwards and upwards...

I wasn't a fan of Charlie Cox but I don't know if James Morrison will be any better.. personality wise from what I've seen, he doesn't strike me as being a part of Top Gear anything. I hope he proves me wrong.

I tend to agree. If it is the same block as i am thinking of, his interview as a star etc on TGA was boring and his personality quite bland.

But perhaps when he is the one asking the Q's he might liven up a bit

Fantastic. I was in the audience when Morrison was the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car, and he was excellent. Far better than the un-funny Cox, who was rude to the audience when the cameras weren't rolling. I might actually have a reason to watch the show now.

Good Riddance, and I actually hope the show does well now.

I always saw Charlie as the older wiser presenter, to balance out the comedic warren and young steve. Unless they replace steve im not sure james morrison will be a great idea, imo.

Ditto that.......

The whole TG thing relies so much on personality , metaphor, quick wit and comedic substance...........the cars are almost secondary sometimes........

Perhaps we should just ship over our current crop of Aussie cars and get the TG UK team to test em out.........: .........

This is good news for us punters, it's good to see that the producers are listening to us, now just make sure there are more decisions and opinions, and less fence sitting.

Not to mention the fact that he thought the Holden 4.2L V8 was a great engine.

They should have instantly sacked him as soon as he said that. Anyone who thinks the 253 is a great engine has absolutely no credibility whatsoever.

I couldn't agree more. On the final episode when they compared the Falcon XT with the Commodore Omega, what he said sounded like he was trying to blame Ford for the financial crisis by investing money into FG's development or something like that. I have to see the episode again. But it wasn't all bad as he had to admit the Falcon was a better car.

James Morrison 'ey? What do you know, he used to host another car show in 1994 (as someone mentioned before) called "Behind The Wheel" with that Monica woman from Playschool.
He is the pilot
