Default Common signs of a fake AU XR?

Hey guys as you probably know I'm car hunting at the moment and i went to a dealer that had an "XR6" listed, but when I got there it had no tickford stamp on the engine. And a plate from tickford enhancement saying that the bodykit and rims we're just extra's.

Are there any other sure signs that you know of for a fake XR model?

Did it have the XR front? Might help if you post a link or pics and you'll get some answers pretty quickly I'd say.

No Tickford stamp on the engine but Tickford build plate would indicate HP XR6 yeah?

vic roads wouldnt know if its a forte or a XR6

there wasnt any tickford stampings on a XR6 , no tickford plates or anything like it. the only time a XR6 got a tickford plate was when it was fitted with genuine tickford options. some of these include , LP Gas , sunroof , 17" alloys , body kit , momo steering wheel, momo gear knob .
a quick phone call to a ford dealer or to us with a vin can tell you exactly what it is.

Very nice buy. It's a pimped up version of what I drive, basically.

You will love it

I know that car. It was always parked on Bridgewater Rd in Craigieburn.
Looked pretty good in the flesh. Never actually saw it driven though.

I don't think 10k is too bad for what you got.

Nice car regardless.

Yeah now that i think about it i'm pretty happy with the price, seeing he added his GPS unit too.

It drives really well, only problem is because of how low the kit sits i think ill need some better shocks and its a bit quiet but i can fix both of those

hmmm thats odd for some reason they were certain.....but i thought they only knew that it was a sedan and the year.

Not to worry, i didnt buy it anyway. Why did they put a tickford stamp on the VCT and not the HP, it seems odd.

the only time it would have gone to tickford is if its got any tickford options. this will be listed on a plate on the rh tower. if not im sorry to say it is all ford.

the VCT just got a badge on the engine. even the fairmont ghia and fairlanes fitted with a VCT got this.

remember the XR6 is not build buy tickford they were built buy ford with tickford parts and then shipped to tickford if tickford options were ordered. this is when they got the tickford plate on them.
all t series were half built at ford and then sent to tickford to be finished off. all these cars got a tickford plate.

So it could be the case that people's stock XR6's have never visited tickford, but my forte with tickford factory gas has.
Woot.

Woot indeed.

I have visited Tickford before too, so that means I am better than a stock XR6.

Yes, but your parts are common vialle, or whatever LPG system Tickford fitted. You don't get a Tickford plate for LPG though - you get a GAS plate with Tickford on it (there is a difference). Also, XRs got Tickford parts, made for Tickford, fitted by Ford.
