theres a bit more to maintain with the irs , i have a s2 vct xr6 the rear wheel bearings on mine stated to get a little noisey approximatley 110 k`s, from memory ball park was about $500/600 to get done, the rest is pretty much normal falcon , check for rack leaks, general oil leaks, suspension bushes etc, they are a pretty good unit if maintained, oh i forgot the boot lids have been known to leak a bit of water in through the spoiler so check in the boot around the spare etc , i can`t speak for the au windsor but the oldies were pretty good.

Power Steering Rack High Pressure Power Steer Line Rocker Cover Leaks Timing Cover Leaks Transmission Leaks Leakage from where the dipstick enters the sump and obviously any signs of repairs etc. cheers, Anthony

Looks like a nice clean car. I wouldn't be too worried about kays personally.
What do people think about the price? |

Mate bought a mint Series 2 XR8 for under 10K a few months ago, well under. Probably has room to move on the price on this one, looks pretty good.

Look's ok from the pic's but you really need to go and drive it to determine what may be wrong with it, at the end of the day I wouldn't worry about the klms to much if the vehicle is well cared for,
Look at some AU Taxi's, very high klm's and this is really just a tarted up taxi, lol. |

if your not fused about the xr headlights... id spend a extra 2k and get a T1 or T2 T Series... theys a couple around the 13-14k mark and have the Fairmont interior, premium breaks etc... and i would assume they will hold there value a bit better in the future.... oh and most of them have pretty low kms...

As said already with the issues with the AU,Looks good not lowered or modified apart from the exhaust, check if the gearbox is notchy going into second and third.Listen for drive line noise like the diff shuddering ,if so might just need oil change.Mine done 155,000 apart from the clutch and g/box fine
