Default Tacho wire goes to which pole on the coil?

Hi All.

Just wondering whether the Tacho wire hooks up to the positive or negative pole on the coil. 2L Mark 2 Escort.

Haven't wired a tacho for a while but negative pole is the one that pulses so I would expect that to be the signal for your tacho.
