Can anyone help me out with a problem im having?
I keep hearing different things from different people, and wana no for sure... Are genuine xr front bars repairable by plastic welding? My car bottomed out going through a gutter drain, and cracked it. Some people say tht you can't plastic weld them, because they just burn up because of the material they are made out of? Most plastics are repairable, Probably best to contact a bumperbar repair specialist.

what he said, most are repairable. depends on what its made out of.
and it should say what it is made out of on the inside of the bumper. would be something like "PP" i know at work we have rods and straps for all types of plastic welding. |

yep they are, theres a code on the inside of your bumper that they will look at to tell what grade of plastic and what sort it is.
My xr bumper had a crack on the side mount point, and one across the bottom. Had a bloke i know in "the patch" vic (near belgrave ect) repair it with some crazy technique and now you cant tell it was ever worked on. (this was after it got sprayed tho but still it was pretty rooted!) you got any pics of the damage

Yes it can definitely be repaired. It has to be welded with exactly matching material. The best way to get it (which most repairers do) is to have a smashed up bar off the same make of car and they cut it for filler rod when they weld.
