Post The right cam.....

just about finished my 2 litre build now and deciding on a cam, here are some specs on the motor

Pretty much standard bottom end just been freshened up 40 tho, all ballanced, crome rings, lightened flywheel and such.

head has been decked to raise compression up, it is ported massive(40 hours with the die grinder on the flow bench and very sore fingers lol),bigg valves the biggest we could get in there cant think of the size of the top on my head.

Side draft mainifold has the cast marks on the inside removed and the head is ported so the manifold and ports are the same size as the same on the exhaust side, running 1 3/4 extractors. two solex 40 carbs and a bosh electric ignition ready to be recurved for this cam. now i have double valve springs waiting too.
any idea on a cam? also what sort of horse's will this motor spit out? couldnt be much over a 100? cheers

ok so the bottom end sounds good, the head hopefully you didnt take much out of the inlet ports?? they are too big to start with and the shape isnt the best for flow attack the exhaust ports with all the dremil bits you have.
as for the solex's you will find it hard to get jets, chokes if at all for tuning and should problly go to dellortos or webers.

Cam will depend on what you want the car for and how you drive it.
power depends on the final spec obviously.

yeah was told this about the inlet ports and there been ported but only to the best flow i could get, exhaust has had the most work.engine is a street engine,so quickish through gears i guess and high reving.sollexs are already set up for a worked 2 litre so they should be fine but i will change it in the future nayway when money allows.
