Unhappy This, the worst day of my life.

hi all. i'm writing this to express my anger, and sadness, at a lowlife crime that occured this morning, around 1am. my car was stolen from my mates house, and torched near oaklands park. i am absolutely devastated, as that car was my life and my biggest investment. i am, however, more angry than sad. i can't believe what car thieves do, it would have been better if the car was just dumped there so i could have retrieved it and still used it. instead they set fire to it and left it there to burn. my parents where woken up to the police telling them what had happened, and then i in turn woke up around midday at my mates to find my car was gone. many of you know me and how much i loved that car. this thread is only to express my hatred of these scum and to urge people to please, lock up and park in secure places. it could happen to anyone. here are some pics my dad took this morning..

Very sorry to hear, Was it insured?

I know the insurance money won't repair the emotional hurt from experiencing that but at least it will hopefully allow to get another one and rebuild.

Car thieves suck!

check with your insurance company to see if you have any gap cover, if you owe more than the payout they will pay it all off for you.

i checked, there is no gap cover unfortunatly.

all up ill be around 3.5k in the red, but without bills to maintain the car i guess it won't take long to pay down. im just so upset that i lost my car...

Yes it's unfortunate that it looks like you were only covered for market value, Sometimes the extra $$$ for agreed value can be worth it when something like this happens.

Anyways champ look at this as only a slight bump in your life, Maybe with the payout you could go to a bank and refinance with a personal loan which would include 3.5k you owe and you might be in another FORD before you know it.

Thats bad news, I feel for you and it makes you look at people differently sometimes.

To look at it differently, you're still standing upright, you're well, and can replace that pride and joy with a new one.

If you owe more than the insurance payout there are a few things you might be able to do:

1) check if you have "GAP" insurance as part of your motor vehicle insurance or it may have been part of the finance package

2) speak with your finance company - odds are if the amount is not too big - you may be able to fund it into your next purchase (not always ideal to do but it will get you back on the road).

There's another car out there with your name on it - and you're still around to be driving it.

That's sad to see, I've seen your car a few times near Marion. If you don't mind me asking, where was it stolen from? Pics look like the carpark behind the driving school at Oaklands Park.

Thoughts with you, must be a terrible feeling.

May I ask how they stole it? Did they break into the house and take the keys?

Mate, I shed a tear just then. What a waste of a great car. All those who mentioned karma are spot on, because karma is a ********** and bites back twice as hard. I only hope you can get back on your feet and find the scum who thought this was a good idea. Always look forward, but don't ever forget the past...

Hey, how did they steal it? Did they steal the keys?

Were you at a party??? if you were most likely you might know the person or people who stole your car.

to answer a few Q's: the keys where with me the whole time, and due to the level of damage, they cannot ascertain how the car was stolen. i assume a smashed window/hotwire.
i cant find the pics i once had, ill see if they are a bit deeper in the hard drive.

yeah, it was the back reserve of the driver training centre, oaklands park. apparently a spot known for torched cars in the past.

i don't care if this steps on peoples toes, if i ever meet the people responsible for this, ill do unspeakable violent things to them. this is definetly too far to go with a car..

thanks for the kind words guys.

Don't sink to their level. They'll only have you charged, and then your backside will be on the chopping block. Provocation is no excuse.

What makes you better is not that you may have a car that is better....but you know right from wrong, which is what makes you superior.

That is why despite this and how it sets you back, you'll lift your head up and become more determined to get back what you lost, and you'll appreciate it all the more.

What does the other person have? Nothing more than a box of matches, and a limited amount of time before the law catches up with him. Hopefully they are put into prison, and a big guy called, "Tiny" checks his prostate for him.
