http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news...-1225940315080

Not me. its always funny watching people hit the brakes when coming up to them and then speed back up and take off :P I have actually seen one person driving a kia people mover drive right into the emergency lane at at least 110 to avoid getting snapped

Set cruise control and all is sweet.

When is the Federal Government going to act on this blatant rorting under the thin guise of "road safety".

All they need to do is reduce each states grants by the amount they raise from speed cameras and use the money for road improvement in every OTHER state specifically NOT the one where it was raised.

Watch speed cameras disappear once they cost money rather than raise money......

This quote from that gov't puppet Ken Lay is very interesting;
Police were unlikely to scrap the point-to-point cameras because measuring speed over several kilometres was arguably fairer than nabbing drivers for what could be momentary speeding, Mr Lay said

So now he is admitting that a momentary lapse and getting pinged for it is unfair.............I can see the sky falling in as I type

Just on this subject. Does anyone know anything about any new fixed speed cameras going up on the Monash just after the Warrigal Road bridge, outbound?

I noticed the new sensor units today when I was on may way to Hastings.

HAH! we beat you by about 6 months! ... The RTA installed them at the Goondiwindi camera, to beat all those nasty law breaking Truckies that were turning their lights off going under it.

Just don't speed.

Am I doing it right?

We're talking the RTA's 'Safe-T-Cam' here. A point to point system, often turning off lights (or even the marker lights on the roof) stops the camera going off...and no, I don't know why

This is what the new primary detection beam units look like once the concrete has been done .

.....................................

These are the new units fitted on the Monash between Warrigal Road and Huntingdale Road, outbound. These are screen shots from my in-cab video cameras.

Ill keep an eye out for the cameras going up on the sign then...

But, how are those sensors going to work with 4 lanes of traffic?

It's faulty in that it didn't collect the correct amount of money

If the amount is less then it is faulty, if more then is has an "undocumented feature".

Grossly incompetent, unjust, unsuitable, prone to malfunctioning......

Sounds perfect for QLD.

From the government that bought you the $40,000,000 health payroll system that STILL does not work.........

Anna must go....
