July 02 would be last of the AU3 XR8s - probably genuine then.

LOL JC your the reason why i'm trying to varify this engine, some time back you quoted that my engine would likely to be a 200kW and not a 220kW.

do 200kW have GT40P heads ?

I would now change that and say it's more likely to be a 220, however, as the 200s were going into utes right until the end of the run (Pursuit ute excepted), it's hard to be sure. Have you run the engine number past Ford? They should be able to tell you for sure.

Even the 200s did get RRs, but they would have been 1.6 ratio, whereas the 220s got 1.72 ratio. Though the wrong rcokers have been found on even T3 motors!

But the 220 Auto sticker (ID 320 GA) is probably the biggest clue as to what this is and what it was destined for.

Is there any way you can check the roller rocker ratios? If they're 1.72, then it's highly likely they're the 220 engine.

found some info on a quik id of yella terra rockers used for 200's & 220's - 1.6 has a circle with a # 6 with in the circle & 1.72's have the circle with no number with in.
Info from Yella Terra (03) 9555 5522

so it's likely this engine has all the right signs to be a 220kW

see the orange paper decal (this orange decal is also on the oil filter and RH R/Cover at the rear) 1D320BA and maybe re-engineered to a 1D320GA as to the purple/mauve decal, could that be the engine ID, like how the XW XY XA D block GT engines had them example CK617J1 ?
