Lots of money is being spent to offer new engine variants which will be cheaper to run. Which one will be successul?

Ecoboost doesn't need PULP, it's designed to operate on 91 RON petrol.

2. It is not an engine devised specifically for reduced running costs 3. Name one Falcon model which is fitted with a Miami engine. |

I6 with liquid injection fully integrated with the rest of the car, with no compromise, is almost something to die for... I run Orbital liquid dual fuel system on my BF, and it is flawless. It has also improved the performance (acceleration, response) of the engine. Very happy with this trouble-free system.

I chose 4l 6. There's something about having a 2l 4 that I don't think belongs in a Falcon, and I'd be a little embaressed to answer 'what engine did you get?' when I mention I bought a new Falcon.
IDK maybe I'm shallow and vain.

I need the option to select them both as I'm going to consider both of them later on in the year to replace the EL.

I am surprised to see so many people choose the 4cyl option. None of these voters have stated why they selected the 4cyl engine. I am interested to hear why these people would select the imported 4cyl over the local 6cyl.

I had an AU ute with dedicated LPG. Have also run a duel fuel BF V8, so its the direct injection 6 for sure.

I haven't chosen yet, as I don't know the figures of each of these engines so need to do a bit of research. One thing that comes to mind though would be (I assume) more cabin space with the 4 cyl option. We've got an XR50 now (love it) but I was surprised at how much less rear seat leg room it had compared to our VY Commodore. Only reason I could come up with was the the V6 in the Commodore obviously takes up less room (lengthwise) than the straight 6, meaning more room for cabin space. I assume that the 4cyl would have a similar benefit. I agree with most here that having a 4cyl in a Falcon, just doesn't feel right, but if the performance figures are similar and the 4cyl provides me with a nicer cabin for the family to spend our travel time in, I'd have to seriously consider it. In the end head would probably win over heart. It would be a bit like choosing between these two engines; AU Falcon 5.0L V8, its figures were; Power: 175 kW Torque: 395 Nm FG Falcon N/A 4.0L 6cyl produces; Power: 195 kW Torque: 391 Nm Heart says V8 over V6, but factor in fuel consumption, emissions and outright power and head says V6. Edit: Its often hard to accept change, but progress usually means improvement.

down torque characteristics as the I-6 so basically the same easy performance. 2) A lot of private buyers don't like LPG and the spare wheel stuck on the boot floor sucks. |

I HATE the smell of gas and will never buy a gas vehicle for that reason, the I4T engine is something I believe will be adequate for Falcon without being a Drag strip hero and will fill a void in a potential large car buyers checklist. FUEL ECONOMY!
